best part though, TV, is the computer wire is in the boom! i mean yes of course dont be brushing up the boom but there is no wire to worry about!

edit: 37ft long, 13'1 high, and 8'6 wide. she can squeeze on into just about anywhere really. is very nice.

past that witness mark on this current chain. lol.

you ran a saw i sharpened. you know that thing'll be ripping long chips, especially on a pine! woooooooo. i've been working on the young fellas sharpening skills. he wont try the technique i use to field sharpen but he is paying a lot more attention to whats up with the file. so thats cool.

he should be a good one in a few years once he gets more experience in all aspects of the game. no doubt about it. i enjoy sharing some of what ive earned with him. worth it.

Yeah I used to tear those wires off all the time. I also used to tear off the retractable one that was on the 17 tonners that had remote to a basket I used to rent.

The 50 tonner I sub on a regular basis for the last 20 years has 168 feet of total boom and I am personally in love with that truck. I know just how you feel about that truck.....

nothing like not having to be standing on your spikes all day brother.

edit: sweet cranes. how many times have you tag teamed a tree with one of your subs while using your crane as a TIP?

But this is the one at Arrow Crane I have the most history with and adore dearly. Just an 18 or 20 tonner with about 120 plus feet of stick and will tuck in where you wouldn't think it would.

I love trucks. Let's see some more picts.

My 75 foot Teco teams up with all 3 of these cranes and my own real well but have not to date, had 2 cranes on a job but I would if the situation dictated. It would be a riot. Say you got a 150 foot dead tree and the top is not safe to tie into after hooking up the piece to the crane?

Enter 2 cranes with both in the 150 foot plus of range and don't buck into the dead stem just hang off the second crane. In the past I have hooked my lanyard up to some nasty tops and am getting too old for that foolishness.

...you damn right its foolish to tie in to that!

told you buzzid found his forever home! lol

that loader is redonkulous. 7k i think. it'll pick a piece up that you'd need 2 prentice's for.

Nice looking equipment you work with there Dirty. Must be nice to work with all of what you need and more. So did you get to whack some balls or what?

good guys too bob. thats very important. couple divots in the rough but not from the swing. he better get me out somewhere next summer or i'll be pissed.

Just talk to the greenskeeper (if it is ok with the boss). Golf courses are almost always closed (country clubs) on Mondays (like in caddyshack) and they let rif raff like you and me play on that day if you ask and promise not to tear up the greens with your redwangs lol.

I used to play all over cinci with the greenskeeps here until I sobered up and didn't fit in anymore. Point of the outing was to see how bonked you could get and still move the ball around the course.

I worked on the town golf course when I was 16. After a summer of cutting we finally got out on the links. We shot away all our shoe box full of balls so I decided to take a dip in one of the ponds to fetch some more. That is when the town Superintendent showed up. I came in the next day to be fired. :chainsaw:

My personal update for those following my arborist career. :greenchainsaw:
I've been busy blowing leaves. But got up in a small sugar maple yesterday to hack out a 3" diameter broken branch. Got to say it felt great to get in the saddle again. Still finding time to read "Arborist News" and am waiting to get Shigo's "Modern Arborculture" for xmas. Stay safe out there feller's.

Man, that don't seem right. We used to wade all over ponds for golf balls when I was young and it was easy to feel them under your feet. They didn't fly so well if they had been in there for a while tho.

Were you doing this during working hours Bob?

The balls weren't flying to well with us hitting them anyway.

Truth be told. I was working on the town golf course because I was on probation. My father knew some people in the town and was keeping my sorry butt out of jail. I made friends with the super at the golf course but not so good with the town super. My golf course buddies tried to keep me on to finish my probation period and possibly start a career in golf course maintenance. Since I was being good and working hard the town the super and the judge just let me go. I got out of there because I hatted the system but was sorry to leave the friends I had made.

Yeah, you got the sharpening thing down, thats for sure. Its sort of a right of passage for any real treeman in my book.

I'm pretty damn good at it too, theres always that once in a while where for whatever reason I'll screw one up though. I hate that.

That is a good story. At one time I considered becoming a GC supt. but it didn't pay beans back then and now I sometimes wish I did.
