Don't want to steal your thread sorry! But does the Jred have a different carb than the Husky? Maybe someone knows. The only Husky I have is a Rifle in 358 Norma!

The Jred and Husky that are sisters are all the same inside :p

Well there is a little difference in the Husky 334T and the Jred 2135T, if you see at the IPL's you can see that they are not exactly the same, (I have the 2135T, and i have checked it) but in basic they are :dizzy:
The newer Top Handel saw's from Husky, the 334T and 338xpT, are mush better then the earlier versions.
Some say that Jonsered have build the best Top Handel saw from Husqvarna Group, the Jonsered CS 2135T, but I don't know :confused:
But I know that the 2135T is a good powerful screaming saw :)

Some times there are subtle internal differenses also, but mostly not....

For instance, I believe that they "tested out" the compensating carb on the 2156, before they put it into the 357xp......

...and for some reason the 2186 has a bit less power than the 385xp, even though they are the same basic saw (confirmed by DLG/KWF dyno testing in this case).

Yes that's right. The compensating carb was first on Jonsered, and now it's in the 2159/359 also. Don't know about the 2186/385xp, but i know that there can be some difference in the "sisters", like there is in the 334T and 2135T.

According to my dealer, Jonsered bought the rights to that 334T and did massive changes to it. He said the 334T had horrendous problems, so when the 2135T came out, no one wanted to touch it. As a result, Tilton made a big push to highlight all the changes Jonny made to the 334T in order to get the dealers to take a chance on it. He likes it, and he's gotten a lot of very positive feedback from his customers on it.

Jonserd 3159 Turbo

Qustion if anyone here knows ? Is the much differance between the jered 2159 turbo and the husky 359 and the jered 2165 and the husky 365 seems funny they voth use the same last 2 numbers in the model numbers

...Big deal I like the strait handle more on the Jred than the angle handle on a husky a personal thing.

Roger that!! I am MUCH more comfortable with the straight handle, although there are plenty with the opposite opinion.

In addition, and I'll admit I have a very small sample size I'm working from!, I don't hear a lot of negatives from folks about their Jonsered dealers. Everything I've ever heard about Tilton is that they're good at what they do, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tilton had built up a solid (albeit small) dealer base. (We'll call it "selective.")

I loved my 2159 while I had it, the only reason I don't still is that I traded it in on a 2171. Which I also love.

I only had the 2159 for a few months, and it was still gaining power when I traded it. They come out of the box tight, so give it a while to break-in before you make any judgements as to power.

The NEW Husky 334T is still here, I know that the older 335xpT was a disaster but the new 334T and the new 338xpT are mush better.
And the 2135T are different then the 334T but in basic the same.

Woodie?? Why did you trade your 2159?
Just wanted more power. At least for the time being, I only have one saw, and I was afraid the 2171 might be on its way out. I had planned on modding the 2159 to make it a mini-2171, but I cut a lot on State land, and getting caught with a modded saw in State timber is an expensive proposition.

Figured if I was only going to have one saw, I wanted more steam, and the 2171 has over a 1 hp advantage.

2165 turbo vs husky 357xp ?? they look close and priced the same

2165=365 Husky

357XP=2156Turbo.

The 357 is the same chassis as the 359, but with more power stock. You're basically coming back towards your 359 VS 365 argument.

The 353 359 and 365 are tuned for a little broader power, with a flatter torque curve, that makes it feel like it has more grunt at lower revs.

The 357, 346 and 372 are tuned for more max power output, with a slightly narrower powerband, and a peakier torque curve. They will outcut the 359, 353 and 365 size for size, but require a lighter touch to keep them in the sweet spot of the power. If you lean on them, they may tend to drop off their peak output and slow down. Keep the touch light and let them feed themself into the wood and they will rip.

According to DLG/KWF test results (dyno), the 71 cc versions have more torque than the 65 cc ones, also at lower rpms - but the difference between high and low rpms may be a bit less on the smaller ones.

Btw, the 575 don't have more low rpm torque than the 372, according to the same tests, 4.1NM for both......:ices_rofl:

...and the "old" 262xp has the same low rpm torque - oddly enough....:greenchainsaw:

Put your eyes on the 361 or 372 instead, I don't think they will blow your budget much.........:greenchainsaw:

The 357 will also be OK, if you can live with the outboard clutch.......

Jonsered 2159

this is a dumb question what are your true oppinions of the 2159? anyone here ever run one? hows it compare to the 359/365/357xp/ ms361

why are the saw manufacturers still using the outboard clutch, is it to keep heat away from the bearings, or is it cheaper?

I have a 2159 that I have put about 12 liters of gas through and so far very happy with it I will mod the muffler soon though. I tried the 2156 at the dealer cutting cookies and unless someone had a stopwatch I really could not tell a big difference, mind you they were both like new demo saws.So I saved me a hundred bucks and took the 2159!

I am very lucky to be able to get a 2147 just because good friends with the Jred dealer

The 2147 is available in Canada? If they are that close, I'm going to figure out a way to get one. (like I need another saw) Are they the E-tech with the green cap?
