So, I got a catalog for DVD's in the mail yesterday. I was tired last night, so I was resting on the couch and thumbing through this catalog. Not paying much attention to it, I thought I caught a glimpse of a vintage Jonsereds. So I had to go back through the whole thing to find out what I thought was a saw (this has happened before and it turns out to be anything but a saw). Sure enough there is a movie called "Motel Hell" and the cover art had a drawing of a saw, and the style was all Jreds. A quick search on the internet and I found the longest bar ever on a 451E. And the chain is a little on the dull side, too.

HaHaHA!!! It would take a chain like that to run that bar on a 451!!!!

Did you guys see the 111s that sold on ebay today? Pawnshop in Washington state sold it in running condition. Brought $385-ish.

Wow...missed that one!. Could have saved shipping too and picked it up. But then, that a 'collector's saw' more than a everyday use type saw. Fine line I'm not ready to cross over just yet.....

Yes I did........you didn't miss much...it was in pretty rough shape...top handle bent, clutch cover broke, muffler all bent up and been welded on many times and he said the gas tank leaked if you filled more than half full were just the few things I could see from the pics......undoubtedly more...LOL!! But it's a sellers market on ebay.......there's one born every minute...I've heard...LOL!! I paid all out doors for mine...like nearly twice as much but it's pristine...absolutely nothing wrong with anything....starts, runs and idles perfectly...came with an almost new 404 chain, 36" roller tip bar and a very nice sawmill rig. The only fault I can find is it has a brand new spur sprocket....want to replace with a rim drive so I can use other bar/chain combos. There was a new rim and drum on ebay a while back BIN $100.00......no thanks......don't need one THAT bad!!

Here's a nice find you don't see everyday; http://www.ebay.com/itm/181502958456?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Yeah, you need to get a rim sprocket drive on that puppy. Never used a spur sprocket in my life, but I can recognize a bad design when I see one....lol. That's an insane price though, agreed!

Pretty cool...but I'd be using out of it and it's purely a collectors thing at this point. I can see stuff that's been robbed out in the past. Too rich for me to get some parts I'd never use....would like that chain stop though...lol.

I tried to post here for three days and gave up. I offered that seller considerably less than his $70 price for the NOS 910 handle assembly. Got it last Sat and it's nice!. Lower AV mount assembly is a mess on the original handle and looking at the IPL, the bracket between the two lower AV mounts is missing...just a subbed in short piece of tubing. So....still making a list.....but still stoked about the saw! Got my Cabers in today, but already booked for work on the weekend. This is after I swore I'd not work weekends the entire summer again...ever. So much for my own good advice.

HaHaHa!! I have two of those with more or less the same parts....PB gave me one and I bought the other on ebay for $60.00 BIN...very handy.......and the cool factor is way up there.....

Have you heard from PB lately?

Nope...August 8th last time.....he was liquidating saws and wanted to give me first dibs....I think the new daughter and the fact he's getting done school is keeping him busy.......a little usure what he's doing next....get a job or perhaps moving back to the wife family place and take over the farm....either way he plans on leaving Maine....I should call him and see if he wants to go down to Lee's GTG on the Cape.....

Lol....Dean, come on dude...USE that puppy, don't make it your shelf queen! Some residual dirt is a badge of honor...just make sure the worst of it is cleaned around your clutch area, cylinder fins and air box.

Kevin
Oh, I plan on using it. I was actually excited that it was going to BE dirty. Don't worry, I'll have no problem covering that Maine spruce pitch with some Pennsylvania oak.

looking at a 631 silver top on ebay. Does anyone have any opinions on this model they'd like to share?

Weeeellll.......there was never a 631...silvertop or otherwise.....however there was a 621......which is basically the very first modern ever saw built by any company......with things like AV, vertical cyl, loop induction instead of reeds, quiet muffler and such....legendary.....and nearly bullet proof.....not a large displacement saw at 56cc but will run a 20" full comp chisel in hardwood all day and never break a sweat....I have three....

Have you picked up your 90 yet......I checked tracking last night...said it was at Walnut Bottom PO awaiting pick up......
