Did anyone catch the "111s case" that sold on ebay recently? It looks similar to a 111s but I don't think it really was.
Anyone have a clue?

Interesting that in all his pics, there's no shot of the rear handle...that should be your dead giveaway. That handle is very unique to the saw. However, I don't know the visual difference between a 111 and a 111S other than I was told the 111 always had a one piece top cover.

fossil- that first pic looks like it. mine must be a later one with the plastic handle. need the spring and roll pin for the anchor end.still waiting on a coil & it should run.fixed a crack in the oil tank where someone tightened the bar nuts with the adj. pin out of it's hole, ouch. all kinds of stuff.

Ok, it must be some kind of a franken-saw. The flywheel looks to be from a 52E but the posts for the linkage are foreign to me.
Maybe something from the Raket era?????

I bought the recoil because it said it was for a 111s but it's not. Although the screen may fit my screenless 111 recoil.

In reality, it would have been a good way to possibly get a good 111 crank....that's about it, if other things are suspect. He doesn't sell much stuff, so just one negative feedback would really pull down his rating from 100%. You gotta figure a guy buying just a case like that is gonna know in short order if he was taken. Flywheel looks a bit bizarre...looks like this case has been
hangin' around in someone's shop for maybe decades, or as you say, they were gonna make a Frankensaw out of it.

I'll tell ya what....I just used that magnifier to look at the first pic...looks like that crank has had water in there...so yeah, "new bearings" if you're lucky the crank itself has no etching from water damage.

help again.
turns out i need a brake band for my 625 (no. on black tag). the serial no. is 622c414, what year is this ? are there any husky bands that will work ? the band is gone . saw one on partstree but i think there is more than one type.

Black tag should be a 1996 625II. There were at least three (and maybe four) different bands used. Only one was a shared part with Husqvarna. Yours, if the chainbrake is original, would use the newest version 503 73 55-01. Two different bands were used on the late style cover. I don't know the difference, except the band has a different part number. The last time I checked they were still available, but that was when Tilton was running things.

Yeah, I saw that water damaged looking crank area. I don't think I missed out on anything, whatever it was. When I get the rewind I'll post some pics and see if anyone can ID it. It's unlike any of the usual 49, 621, 90 units I'm used to seeing for sale. This screen is a complete loop and completely flat like the 111s with 4 screws holding it in place. And there appears to be an allen screw in the screen at 2 o'clock. Also the pull handle sits in a chromed metal guide, not casted into the rewind as most other Jonsereds.

Nice touch...the Husky 2100 had a replaceable chrome starter rope guide. Did you buy the recoil assembly from the same guy? Sounds like you may have a good chance at adapting that screen to your 111S.

Here's a few pictures of my Jonsered chainsaws. Cs 2172 and two cs 2252.

Yes, bought the recoil from the same guy. Saw the 111s listing and flat screen and made an offer. Then I looked closer and saw some differences, he accepted the offer so I bought it.
I didn't spend a bunch of money so if it doesn't work out maybe someone on here can use it once we figure out what it fits.

I still don't think the case he had for sale was a 111s.

Hey Eric, did you look at that case Dean linked to? What do you think it is?

Kevin

It looks 110/111/111s to me. I've never seen a 110 but from what I've read there is very little difference, if any, between the three. It has the "S" code on the case, manual oiler and seperate fuel tank. Those are the only Jreds saws from that time that have those. It looks like it may have been damaged behind the (wrong) flywheel and I have never seem a bumper quite like that one.

I'm no authority on the 111...never even had one in my hand, but that looks like a weird example case with that flywheel and dawg. As I said, might have been a good deal if the crank was undamaged and not etched by water...$75 for a sound 111 cranks is certainly reasonable.

It's for sale ;).

I bet...lol! I don't want it so badly I'd pay all that shipping. Is it the old-style J'red 10mm mount?
