If they are VEC pistons there are a number of pistons out by that seller that are very hard to find. One for the Partner 5000 come to mind. Poulan 5200 as well.
Yes indeed.......all the great saws gone by........perhaps others are better crafted than the one I dealt with.....I really wonder about the 52/52E pistons and the wristpin issue......if I had better funding I would buy one just to find out....maybe someone else needs one and add to the discussion.......

I have a 52 case that looks as though it's never been split. It's been stripped of all the other parts and I can't remember how I acquired it.

Question: When I spray carb cleaner in the crankcase, it leaks out through the oiler hole. That shouldn't be able to happen unless the case gasket is damaged, correct?

If you mean the oiler hole at the bar plate its most likely flowing thru the oil pump. Worn pump plunger?

Yes, the oiler hole. and the oiler gear has been removed. seems odd that the two reservoirs would be connected.
I'm wondering the case can be rebuilt without splitting it.

These seem to be a perfect fit for the O rings in the 49sp oiler. Lees than $3 at Lowes in the plumbing section.

Those need to be oil rated like Buna.....those typically at a box store are just rated for hot/cold water.

Thanks for that!
Is a running one (this one) worth £50/$60 to rebuild? Not too clued up on anything Jonsered before 2000 series models, just local to me.. I notice the recoil is cracked.
Absolutely it is, if the parts are all there and it's a runner. Cleaned up, it could conceivably fetch $400+ on eBay during firewood season. Whether people are using or collecting during the season, doesn't matter... best prices are now.

That is an old school torque monster! I love running mine. If you want to lean on it in the cut it just don't care. Fun saw to run.
