Totally new to Jonsereds.
My question is what Jonsered is equal to Husky 272XP?
I am in the middle of a Husky 272XP project, and I would like to be able to know what model to look for in Jonsered, when I look for parts.

Thanks

Not an easy question to answer. There was no direct Jonsered equivalent to the 272 although parts from the 600 series will work depending on the year and what parts you need. That is the short easy answer.

Repped!!
Thanks for the info, exactly what I wanted to know.
I will just have to start eyeballing my parts needed list, and see what I can find, I really like the thought of having a Franken-saw.

It's getting lonely in here! I cut a stump for a friend that goes to my church last night. It was a Cottonwood, 40" at the ground. Got to take the 80 out for a workout!

Wonderful saw...been using my 80 since '79. I cut out my own bucking spike for it when I was still logging-the factory one is pathetic. You must have painted it a bit? I'd really like a 90 if I could ever find one.

That's a real good, well kept example....Those 80'S just woooooohhhhh... along and gitin 'er done.. Real good saws with high dome pistons. Finger straitening compression.... Near bulletproof if you don't fall a tree on them or run over them with the skidder....even then.... perhaps???

The best thing about these saws is they dont feel like they have a ton of compression until you pull out the guage and it says 180. At least thats how my 801 is!

HAHAHA!! My 80 Comes in at 238 cold....It's not bad to pull but you have to be committed, because if you're not and it wants the string back..it'll have it...and you'll have black screech marks between your fingers....I was not committed once......

Nope, no restoration on that saw! Been in my family since new, and hasn't seen much use. The only thing new to it is a fuel line and the b/c. I love to give it a workout from time to time, and if it has less than 200 lbs compression, I'd be surprised. Not too bad to start though, once you learn the tricks, as Cantdog stated.

My 80 has a compression release. If it had a couple thousand RPM more I think it would cut with my 066. A very impressive saw.
