2150/350 can be broke down to early and late versions. Early versions had a straight open port piston & cylinder that was shared with the 2149/351.

Later versions had the capped port cylinder that was shared with the 2152/353. The 2150/350 used a dished piston, while the 2152/353 have a flat top piston.

A few mixing and matching items:

Early saws used a course self tapping cylinder bolt, while later saws use a bolt with a finer thread, so they obviously don't interchange and you need to keep tract of them or you could screw up the case. This change took place in weeks 40-42 of 2003, on the Jonnys, but much earlier, week 5, on the Huskys. The reason is that they build way more orange than red, and some changes lag until another run of Jonnys is scheduled.

Starters interchange, but again, different thread screws are used on the metal and plastic case saws.

ALWAYS switch earlier saws with the plastic intake boot clamp to the new style metal clamp. This change was done to Jonsered production saws in late 2006, so there's plenty of plastic stuff out there. The partition wall/clamp part number is 537251302. Huskys received this change much earlier in the year, around week 11.

About halfway through 2003, the metal case saws switched to the clamp on air filter still in use. The plastic case saws retained the twist on style.

Just some Poulan made POS, with close to no power......

34.4cc's not alot of power yet.
I go to this wood cutting contest and the first race is for 0 to 35cc saws.
Next time I'll be cutting not watching.
I'm calling my local Jonsered dealer to see if they have a 2234 in stock.

I've got one of the poulan POSs... an old 2300 CVA. It's awfully fun to cut with, until things get too much bigger than a solid 12". I've got plenty of other saws, and that is the one I reach for for all the small stuff. yea, I'll race your Jred with it, stock --- loser buys the first round. :)

You'd still be better off, wallet wise, going with the poulan badge for the same saw... or go grab a poulan in stihl clothing to spend even more...

a green and purple wild-thing will out-cut more saws than people will admit, even to themselves.

I replaced the starter string tonight. The old one was just too large and bound up the return. a much easier fix than I expected when I picked it up.

Then, on the AV. I 'think' the AV is as designed, but I'm not sure. It could be worn (or not). Anyhow, I got a rubber cork that fit the tapered conical hole nicely, hogged a properly sized (more or less) hole in the middle, and scrunched it over the post on the front AV mounts, and did the same for the rear mounts. I replaced the jack-leg bolts that were there. I dunno; I think that the extra rubber may save the OEM mounts for a while since they will be unable to deflect as much, but this will probably make the AV a bit less effective.

Next, the wires on the coil, and the carb kit got here today.

Hey - I need a little help, please.

I've got a mystery hole (one of two mystery holes). If you have a minute, please let me know if something is suppose to go through this hole. Right now, there is a post that just hangs in the breeze sort of in the middle of the hole (see circle in pic). I am unable to determine what if anything goes on that post and though the hole from the IPB (see circle in IPB).

Thanks, Vic

Heres a pic of my 910. It was pretty cherry when I got it but it dosent have that bracket with the hole. Maybe not all of them had it? The 920/930 has a similiar set up. The hole goes over the pin and I beleive acts as a saftey for the av. Sorry if the pic is big. For the time it took to figure out how to embed it I'm not going back to resize. lol

Thanks. +1 for you!

so, you're saying you don't have that large assembly at all. Interesting.

And that post is beat up pretty good, so maybe it is a safety or limitting device, as you say. Funny they would go to the trouble of putting two holes in the bracket. Maybe just for access to the post. When I get it all stuck back together I'll see if I want to modify that somehow. Seems a shame to have a perfectly good set of holes and brackets without something attached to them. :)

That thing looks awfully intricate/ expensive for the JRed 'Stump the Dummy' Option #1.

I like the 2077. It makes sense.
I just don't know why the 2083II is the same cc as a 2077.
The 625II is the same cc as the 625.
Thanks Doctor, I feel better now. Same time newt week?

I believe going from 82.4 to 76.5cc on the 2083 was an early reaction to EPA rules in the USA, but it surely seems odd when the 2077T already existed (at least here), and was the same saw with a more fitting name than 2083II.....
