I guess it depends what you're doing with the unit.
How you liking that little beast.
For what little I've used it, I like it, we will see how it goes this summer when I do some work with it.

Until then, I may have to dream up some work for it, just to get some hours on it. lol

Don't doubt that, I didn't use them in the snow at all.
In the gravel pit out back the turf tires had way more traction than the R4's on the newer one, so much so that I almost swapped them out, but I wanted the shinny rims that came on the newer one lol.

Heck yeah.
Did you run it at all before the mods, how's it compare. I'm thinking that cleaned up clutch cover had to add a good bit :innocent: .
Those covers also fit the 372's and their jred cousins. I think they look great o the jreds; not so much on the 372's. They sure are nice with the captured nuts, but I don't think they flow chips nearly as well, the 2 series saw seemed to do a great job with the chips.
I ran the saw before I bought it but not in wood. I do have a slightly used 372xp oe to compare it to this saw. The side cover was all scratched up. I blasted the outside and painted it. I love the captured nuts on the 5 series saws. This saw is supposed to flow the chips out better than the 372xp saws. I goofed up. I should have checked the squish on the saw while I had it apart. If it was a lot, I could have fixed it. The hole with the pin that looks like something is missing sure is. There is supposed to be a deflection limiter in that hole. I'll order it tomorrow.

You just may have a torn meniscus in your knee. Years ago our Pitbull mix clotheslined my knee with her steel cable run. She snapped my knee sideways tearing the meniscus in my right knee. I had to have the loose flap removed. Then I tore it up again at work. After the 2nd clean out my knee was worse than before the surgery. I did some research and found out about the gel shots. They are painless.
thanks for the info
Not to that point yet myself, but it is likely just a matter of time

Here Is my 572XP all cleaned up with a newly modded muffler and my TsuMura 24" bar with a new full C83 square toothed chain on it. I think that there might be a shock cushion on the right rear side missing. #4 picture. The lower right front corner has one on the pin located there. I did beadblast the clutch cover and painted it. (Update) The #4 picture is missing a deflection limiter. I'll order that tomorrow.
Nothing goes in that hole from the pin in the handle to the crankcase casting. It's just so you don't over flex the iso mounts.

Parts on order and an outside felling dog.

That is interesting as there is another pin and case hole in the lower right front that has this deflection limiter in it. That is a lot of area to flop around in. I'll see how it works when I get the other dog in.

There's a Stihl FS110 trimmer with the bike handles for sale locally. He's asking $80. Says it was sitting in his Grandpa's basement for a few years and doesn't run. I'm assuming the carb is full of crud. Are those carbs easy to clean/replace diaphragms or would I be better off with a new carb? Just wondering if there would be any upside to fixing it and flipping it.

Hey @MustangMike

I brought home this 6spd SS and took your niece for a ride. Found a back road and let her try getting the clutch up without stalling

I think we have a manual fan in the making….

She asked if your car was faster after I gave her a “spirited” ride. When I said yes, she asked if I could bring a Stick shift Mustang home. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️IMG_1282.jpeg

YAY! I hope she does become and stay one of the elite drivers who knows how to row through the gears, down shift, Double clutch and match speeds. I suppose the downside if she does is that she may become a gearhead magnet. But then the girl in my HS class (0ver 600 moons ago) who could beat all the guys in a street drag scared off most guys because she was fierce (and had a rich Dad)

That's awesome! The dealership didn't have a ZL1 for you to take home?

Lee let me know the part #. I have a new stihl carb in a box marked stihl trimmer.

That gets a buffer ring. Pin is a different design then the one on the handle. The one on the handle is just a last ditch effort to keep the handle and body together. you'd have to honk on the saw pretty hard to get that handle pin to hit imo.
