This one has to go to the Dolmar 5100. It's just a little out in front of some of those older designs. Most guys just say "wow" when they run it for the first time.

I know I did, and I will say it again! WOW. Go Dolmar!

I had a Husky 340 16" running 95vp that cut really smooth.
The 350 has even less vibration than the 340.:chainsaw:

I own a Husqvarna 350.
Of the saws I've used (Craftsman 45cc, Stihl 029, 044, Husky 357XP, Husky 359) the Husqvarnas have the least vibration (all chains being equal).
I also think they're more user friendly than other saws and have a good balance of power and weight.

How much are you looking to spend?
A 346XP would be great if you have the money.
The Husqvarna 350 is a great saw at an occassional user price.
I'm kicking myself for not buying a 353 online (would have cost less considering tax).

BUT, from everything I've read I wish I had taken a look at a Dolmar 5100:(

The 353 has the 350 shamed badly. For the money 5100 or 353. No doubt.

Why's the 353 that much better?
I thought it's basically the same saw but with a magnesium crank case.
The 0.1 hp difference is probably unnoticeable.

The reason I wish I got the 353 was price.
The 350 cost me $360, tax included, while I could have gotten the 353 online for $350 with free shipping and no tax.
An upgraded saw for cheaper:bang:

If I was buying new and leaving stock. It would have to be the Dolmar 5100S. But being I have a Poulan 305 in that class that runs like a champ in that size, just not as much rpm's as the dolmar. I ran them back to back, so yes I know what they cut like. I cant justify the purchase of a new one. I have a Partner 5000 plus and a Partner 500 on the way that is in the 50cc and under class too. So should be able to tell more later. But NEW and stock Dolmar 5100S, hands down. Seen them going for $325-$389.

$325 was a misquote in that thread. I know this because I bought that saw. It cost me a few bucks more, and it was 10 dollars above dealers cost. You are not likely to find one under $369ish. $409 is normal retail and anything under that is a deal. I would have never paid full retail on one, that is why I bought it at such a good price. But after running it, I'd buy 3 more at full retail. That is how awesome this saw is. Best antivibe out there, IMO. The 5100 is the Best 50cc class saw out there IMO

What? I did...Go back to my post and read the quote...Then read my reponse. I was talking about the 5100.

5100s, and again I say, 5100s, and if you need a big saw to go with the small saw, get another 5100s. If you get another brand, you might think you have a great little saw, but it won't be as good as the 5100s.

5100s

Any chance at all the bars for any of my Huskies or Stihls will work on the 5100s? Just wondering If I am going to need to re-stock more chains, etc....

The 5100 has the same bar mount as the small Husky mount. Did you order 3/8" or .325?

Jim

Seems to me like a new saw is a great excuse to stock up more chains, bars, acc., etc.:hmm3grin2orange:
