Do you have a black and white striped shirt? Or better yet, throw your hat in and bring your own long barred 850. Can't bring a ringer, like Joey's monster compression MAC.

That's saw has been my primary milling saw and I've noticed that it gets easier to start as the years go by. It's still one hell of a saw. I'm guessing it's lost 20-30psi of that 200+. Good thing I've got several piston and ring sets for later down the road.

Built for BC winters. I don't fancy trudging through the snow, but it is about time to try out the feature.

Nice saw! I don't see to many sp60s here. They seem a lot less common than the sp80 and the sp81. I have one and I like it. Mine isn't the cold weather edition, being in Mississippi, they obviously didn't sell any cold weather versions here. It is heavy compared to other 60cc saws but it built like a tank.

That one is very nice Cory, both hand guards in addition to the cold weather set up, am a bit jealous.

Do you know if the tank top has any special features for the front hand guard, or is it just drilled and tapped with some sealant to prevent leaks?

Maybe Wingnut knows since he has one with the front hand guard as well...Ted...Warped...?

Theoretically you use a different air filter with the preheater on, fine brass mesh rather than the flocked screen

Mark, I never really checked how the hand guard was mounted to the tank. I know now though.

There are small internal bosses in the cover that are tapped. The fasteners only protrude 1/2" or so beyond the guard into the castings. There is not a lot of material cast, though. If one stripped/damaged those threads, it could be tricky to tap to a larger size.

Brass mesh filter on mine as well.

Looking for a little ID help
The 2-10A I picked up a while ago has a rim type sprocket where the rim is fixed to the drum, PN 62572-A with SM57 also stamped into the drum. Am I right in guessing that this is a .354 pitch sprocket?

.354 pitch? Is that something old?

MAc used it and apparently Homelite did as well according to Sabre when they were introducing their .315 chain. Never heard of .315 until I saw a copy of their ad today.

Mac made the chain as did Sabre. Apparently Oregon did for a while and maybe others. The saw may have come with a .354 chain if that's what this is. Unfortunately, my bars and chains are not very well organized.

Look up DANZCO INC for pin drive sprockets in various configurations. I have a 10 pin .375 that I use on an SP125 set up. These are true "pin" type sprockets and not really suitable for everday use.

All of the large frame clutches are the large spline.

Mark, I'm looking to run a 3/8 10 pin on my 797. Currently running 3/8 8 pin skip chisel on 36" sprocket nose Oregon and it's a bit slow. Not sure to run 9 or 10. Thanks.

I recently got a mcculloch titan 620. I am in need of crank seals and a spacer and crank side gear for oil pump and can't find anything. Even the IPL'S are almost impossible to find. Most important is the crank seals. Does anyone know what other saws might use the same crank seal as this thing. I have a part n of 227499 but am not positive if that is it.
I was hoping someone has some nos parts available.

I recently was in need of crank seals and bearings for a 797. I looked on eBay and nothing specific to the parts I was looking for was found. The sellers that did have Mac parts I just messaged and told them what I was looking for. Many responded and also had the parts I was looking for, and I did find, and purchase as well. They were savvy enough to Mac parts and didn't need part numbers.

The Titan 620 will be an Italian made saw that not so many are familiar with. The seals (like most McCulloch seals after 1960) are actually metric and generally standard sizes. Take the seal, or accurate measurements of the bore the seal fits in and the shaft @ the seal to any reputable bearing house and they will be able to fix you up.

FWIW, attached is a copy of the Titan 620 IPL courtesy of KT Outdoor.

Well I was going to wait until I had this big saw sorted out, but I couldn't help but post it up. This is a machine that I have been trying to find for a number of years and haven't been able to get hold of one until earlier this week.
The saw is a McCulloch 895C and is the last of the big gear drive saws from the company. The saw differs from the standard 895 in that it has a poppet type decomp valve, and a larger chrome bore 105 cylinder. The cylinder cover is the same as the SP105/125 saws and the muffler cover is also identical to the SP105/125 saws, however the front of the cover is cut off to allow it to fit with the gear drive R/H recoil assembly.
I will remove the non std handle, recoil, falling spike and hand guard assy before replacing these with the correct parts. The saw will be returned to its proper configuration.

I am putting this 895C up as my rarest McCulloch chainsaw as it is the only one I have ever seen.16388200_308993596165423_3977178950676709631_n.jpg 16265417_308993602832089_6981385980616300191_n.jpg
