I just took a look at the drone video. Thacker Video Productions may need a director and an editor. On the big screen you can see Brian (in the orange chaps) start to fall a tree then the drone leaves him to catch me pulling my suspender-less pants up. The three of us - Brian and his son, Lee, and me - have a good time on Saturdays. I wish we could expand the crew to include some of you.

Now it has nothing.it's pieces in a box.in the past it had a piston jummed but it was fixed by replacing the piston rings and maybe the piston (i'm not sure).it worked ok.some years later it didn't fire up i gave it to a mechanic and he told me it was the ignition coil's failure.i got it back in a terrible condition, everywear he had use plumbers silicone for sealant.i had to tear apart the saw to clean it and use a proper sealand

Ok so how is the cylinder? That's the only thing that will be hard to get. Coil no problem at all piston is on Ebay all other bits can be had easy enough on Ebay or other places

I did see that and had a wee chuckle. It will improve next time.

If I had plenty of money I'd be over on the bus in a heart beat saws and all. Looks like guys have some good fun

The cylinder has scratches in the inlet and the excaust sides.the deeper is on the excaust from the hall to the crankcase.the piston too.the rings seem to be ok.the scratches on the piston are below the rings.no scratch above.

Welcome Jim - there is another McCulloch thread (https://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/the-unofficial-mac-10-10-thread.201506/) that deals more specifically with the 10 Series saws that may be helpful as well. Also, experiment with the "Search" function found at the top, right side of the page to help find information on specific topics.

The simple answer is your model should be equipped with the electronic ignition coil (92785, 95553, 223708), the coil from the 600 Series saws will work as well if you cut down the length of the spark plug wire (93161, 95553, there are certainly more part numbers assigned to the same part). The points ignition coil will not work, and in fact will not fit your cylinder since the mounts are different.

Other items that may be needed like bearings and seals can still be found, most of the gaskets and carburetor kits are all still available as OEM or aftermarket items.

Keep asking, you will find the folks here will be pretty helpful.

I was thinking that we need to better instruct our drone pilot. He can fly but does not know what to video.

Ok well it'll still run fine I recon. My 7-10 doesn't have the best cylinder it's got a couple grooves and it still runs great. Probably not what it could be but pulls harder than modern 60cc saws so good enough for me.

Hey there.i am jim from greece and you are my last hope to rebuild my pro mac 700.l don't know much about saws,i don't understand much of the terms you use,i don't know the language so well and the only reason i 'm here is that i want that yellow beast, resting in pieces in a box now to be alive again.i have bought a husqvarna 450e and it's fine for my needs (firewood for my mom) and everyone i know told me not to try fix that old saw but i had that mac since i was a kid and it's like my first girlfriend.i can't forget it.so i'll need a service manuai if somebody has one,a guidance with the parts and the procedure in general.i found an ipl and for example the ignition coil i need is number 92785.i found on ebay an mc 223875.is that suitable for my saw?my model is 12-600061b.thanks for your time, hope you can help me bring that mac to life.

I sent you a link to a service manual for the 10 series. You will find it in your "Inbox"

Thanks mark. I saw the pics of your collection.amazing.i think you shoulb be kalled as "the king of the macs"

Shouldn't be to bad really depends if that piston can be saved seals a gasket or two and a carb kit and some crank seals
Easy stuff if you live in u.s or anywhere else in the modern world. if i buy something for ebay that costs 100$ it will cost me 150 plus shipping at the best case.if i find that in greece,a tool for example,it costs 3 or4times the price on ebay

I have taken the photos.tried to do my best with the cylinder.
