Thanks Mark! I just bought a kit & paid $9.25 & thought I was doing good.Lol I put these on my watch list though,I always like to have a couple extra on hand.I've got a pair of 510's to go through & get going shortly,so those kits will come in handy.

How can I repair my SP125 fuel tank? I’ve decided to sell my 125 and when I got it off the shelf to make sure it still ran I remembered the hair line crack around the tank seam that leaks fuel. I think it had a rough ride when I bought it due to poor packing. Anyway, I figured I would attempt to repair the tank before I try to sell it. I looked at the ipl and it doesn’t show a gasket so does it just use sealer? Can I simply clean and recoat the tank with something like Kreem? I’ve searched everything I can think of and haven’t found a good solution. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Preston - Red Kote for the fuel tank. Make sure it is really clean before you treat it and let it cure completely before adding any fuel. I get mine from O'Reilly's.

Ed - I think the SP40 and PM510 use a Tillotson HU carburetor so check it out before you buy too many Zama kits.

Mark
Mark, according to Acres' site the PM510 had either a Walbro WA-8,or a Zama.No mention of a Tilly at all,but what I plan on doing first is taking the saw apart to find out exactly what I have for a carb. It's also been known that Acres' site has errors in it,so you could be right too.Neither one of the 510's has spark,so I'm assuming it's a points issue.

Hey pt, any pictures of it? Ive been wanting a sp125 but cant afford the insane ebay prices. Are you selling it here? Shoot me a asking price and pictures if youd be interested in getting rid without having to post any ads please. Gimme a shot maybe we can work out a deal. Thanks

I'd planned on getting at one of the 510's today, but the other 310jumped in it's way.I pulled the 310 apart & found out a couple things I wasn't expecting - the impulse line was pinched, which tells me that someone was in that saw & wasn't careful putting it back together. The other thing was the recoil pulley is cracked,I know this because when I pull on the rope the pulley is wide at one point & narrow at the other point & it wobbles when I pull on the rope.I had the same thing happen on a 610 last summer. The goodf news is I found a whole recoil assembly on Ebay for $10 & free shipping. Now I need an impulse line, fuel tank,& a coil.I've got my eyeball on the latter two on Ebay.

Sorry, just sold it.

I acquired this saw last year. I was told it has been sitting for years. The throttle is stuck. I am going to need a air filter, air filter cover, and probably a carburetor diaphragm. Any leads on where to get parts and hopefully they won’t cost me a arm and a leg. And what about checking the crank seals for leaks?

Brandon - I have a 35 Flying Goose that is very similar but not exactly what you have. It is fully intact but unknown running condition. I got it in a deal with a SP81 I wanted. I'd be willing to sell it if you want a parts saw. Message me.

Does anyone know the p[art # for the metering spring on a Walbro MDC15 carb?I've been looking all over the web trying to find it,not even Walbro's site has the MDC carb listed.
Ed

This isn't for the 310 Vinny,it's for my 120.The 310's have a Zama carb, the 120's have the Walbro MDC.I looked on the Walbro site & they no longer have any info on the MDC carbs.
Ed

Thanks Vinny. It looks like that spring is obsolete, just like the carb itself.I might be able to get a spring from Bob Johnson,he keeps old carbs laying around for parts.I bought a couple throttle return springs for Walbro HDB carbs last summer from him.

I was just doing some thinking on the MDC carb situation that I have.Rather than just search around forever for a metering spring,I might be better off getting the whole carb.If anyone out there has any Walbro MDC carbs or Zama M1-M7 carbs they'd like to dispose of,I'd gladly take a couple off your hands.
