Here are a few Macs that I picked up over the weekend.

I realize that the picture is not the greatest, but can anyone ID those top 2 left ones for me? For all I know the model number is on them, but I didn't have time to check and I was hoping that someone would recognize the shape. I believe that both saws are the same model and the tall, skinny configuration interests me.

There is another one that looks interesting - that bigger one in the middle of the saws. The model number should be on the bottom, correct?

I will get some better pics this week and post them up.

Thanks

The two on the left are 33/35s, the one in the middle is a direct drive version, a LeSabre, I think. Not many of those around.

Thanks, I checked the acres site and those model numbers seem to be bang on. The pics there look like the right saws.

I will have to pull them out of the shed and make a list, but those ones that I mentioned may be good candidates for restoration (especially the 33/35 - I like the looks of it).

Those are great little chainsaws, they can cut anything, not very fast mind you, but they do have the power to go full rev on the hardest of wood. I have a 35 that I take to the beach to cut weird stuff with.

What parts do you need again? I have me some Eager Beavers... Might have your part?

It has no spark. I am assuming the ignition module is bad but I would like to test it somehow. Is it possible to test the module? Maybe it's just setup wrong or something...

There's a thread on here somewhere, where you test the continuity(?) on them to see if they're good. Most just assume they are, and just replace them I think?

Do a little searching under 'module+test' and see what you find?

I like the styling of the 50's era saws too. Chris, wait until you see how those saws were put together. The model # of the 33/35 saws is stamped right above the opening to the fuel tank.

Thanks for the info!

I hope to have a look after work today and start making a list.

Hey Chris,

Please let me know if you decide not to do anything with the LeSabre. I have only seen a few in person and would like to have one in the collection.

Thanks,

Mark

When I saw the Macs I thought of you immediately - if I let that one go I can't think of a better home for it.

Ok I just picked up another mac. It looks very similar to marks 300 but I can't find a ser. # anywhere one it. Any advice on where to look? Pics to come.....

Edit: After some much needed cleanup I found a number on the bottom. It is stamped "250". Other than that I can't find anything else on it. Also here are some pics as promised.

Well I haven't gotten it to run more than just a few seconds yet so I can't vouch for that. But am anxious to lay it into a hunk of hedge and see what she will do.

Okay, I have some better pics of 2 Macs that I would like to get some info on.

This was ID'd as a 33, but I cannot find any numbers on this saw (lol ... yes, that might change if I cleaned it up). Where should the numbers be on this saw? Also, that bar is in great shape and will look good on this saw once it is restored.

This one I am not sure about. CD 1010 is stamped into the bottom, but the fuel cap at the front doesn't appear to be the same as any of the 10-10 saws shown on the acres site. It will likely be moved along to someone who can use it, but I would like to know what I am sending off first! :D

Thanks for any help you Mac gurus can provide.

Chris, clean the immediate area directly above the fuel tank opening and below the points cover. The model and serial numbers will be there.

BTW,I sure make no claim to being a "Mac Guru". ;)

Hi Calvin,

Do you have the ignition module for a 2.0 eager beaver? I don't know and can't find an IPL anywhere for a solid state 2.0 eager beaver...
