Anyone know if these two coils are interchangeable? The one on the left has a tab of sorts under the center contact. Don’t see any other difference.View attachment 965324

That tab is a keeper, it holds the coil on the laminate post. So it won't slide foward into the flywheel. It can be glued also.

Thanks. Do you know if the coils are the same otherwise? Maybe the one had the keeper at one point but it broke off??

Can anybody explain how to get the clutch side crank seal out on a PM60.

To be honest i'm not 100% sure, but I have swapped around points ignitions from saw to saw spanning many years without an issue.

Matt - how did you every find one with the muffler guard still in one piece?

Pure luck. Need to find a filter and clutch cover for it now.

They look identical but do have a different number on them. Guess trial and error!

Its funny how those parts will show up when least expected. Just keep an eye out. They'll show up eventually. Theres a clutch cover on ebay. Bit pricey but its there.

I found an NOS coil replacement kit for my 1-41 and it covered a vast amount of years ,so you'll probably be good.

Well I have been picking up a few project saws since the first of the year. several 10-10s a few 700s and an 800. But Friday I got a call from a guy I have known for 30 plus years. I had contacted him a few ago about Mac parts and when I did I asked if he wanted to sell his 850. He said no, and I said if you ever change you mind let me know. Well he called Friday to let me know he changed his mind.. I made the 20-minute drive Monday. and today I opened her up. She's in good shape for the work she's done. a carb kit and she should be golden.

A little elbow grease and thatll be a nice looker. Everyone has a recipe for carb cleaning but i love goof off grafitti remover. It dissolves that varnish very quickly. Just my 2 cents on carb cleaning.

The plug lead would be shorter? Maybe but you could try it.

Anybody have any opinions on a mcculloch 380? Neighbor has one I seen in his garage and asked if he would sell it. Kinda dirty but looks complete.

I thought I would post this here before putting it up for sale. I've got a good PM700 I am wanting to give a new home. I just got it fixed up and have cut with it a little the last 2 weeks. I'm thinning out the amount of stuff I have and so this one needs to go. If anyone is interested then give me a shout. I do have one or two bars for it that I would consider parting with as well. This also doesn't have a chainbrake but I do have most of the components on hand if a person wants it.

I have a 850 ipl. Its from k&t parts online store. They have lots of mac ipls you can download.
