I know I should ask in the beg for manuals, but can I get help with an ipl for an 850?

I have been slipping down the rabbit holes search on the net.

Thanks,. Eric R.
Everyone loves nibbing in the backround....lol. i see 3 high rise air filter covers! Nice!!!
There are more that 3 lol but they didn't get background time, good eyes!

Anybody have any opinions on a mcculloch 380? Neighbor has one I seen in his garage and asked if he would sell it. Kinda dirty but looks complete.
No experience just have heard they are strong saws. I have one waiting on the shelf but it will be a while before I do that one. Several in front of it and it’s missing the front of the oil tank.
That tab is a keeper, it holds the coil on the laminate post. So it won't slide foward into the flywheel. It can be glued also.
i remember that now from long ago!! Thanks!

can anybody explain to me how to replace the crank seals on a PM60. I cant figure out how to get to the outside seal or how to remove the bearing to replace the inside seal.
Well if its the anti vibe one you have to remove the clutch and all its components first.
Then i like a small seal puller or a tuning screw driver poked through the old rubber seal and then pried out.
If you want to replace the bearings the entire saw will need to be disassembled.

i already have the saw dissambled, i need to do the crank seals now but i cant figure out how to get the bearings out to get them out and put the new seals in.

Ok so I take it you have the bearing and seal combo sitting on the bench, you can still pop the seals out of the retaining ring of the bearings and pop the new seals in, I press mine in with my vice for the pto side.
If different from what I'm saying, post some pictures of your situation.

If you can make any sense of what im trying to do with these pictures. Im not replacing the bearings because i can't get any replacments so i have to reuse these, plus they really arn't that bad. But the outer bearing i can't get off the shaft, even after freezing it.

Assuming you mean a big old front tank saw (like link below) and not a modern plastic one, they are pretty cool. 87cc with all six transfer ports drilled and the third port. Not a high dollar saw, somewhere between a standard 250 and a Super 250.

Yup that's it, but it's locked up unfortunately after checking and didn't pull the muffler to see if piston is scored, so a deal breaker for me. Thanks for the info :numberone: much appreciated

Drill a small hole in that seal and thread a drywall screw into it to either grab with a pair o' vise-grips or to use as a means to get the seal cock-eyed enough to get underneath it with something else. Could also knock one side of it inward with a punch or screwdriver to at least get it loose and maybe crooked enough to just pry out.

I just recently bought a cheap bearing separator kit from Amazon for stubborn bearings. Cheapie kit, but great for small jobs. Shoulda done it years ago. Would be perfect for your situation.

Here's one if you haven't gotten over there, yet.
Ok so I wouldn't pull the big bearing if your not going to replace it, and it looks like an old seal outer metal ring in the bearing cup for the pto side, it should pry out with some persistence.
You could try a small gear puller for the big bearing if you wanted? After soaking it with a penetrate oil.

Thanks Vinny.
Now all I need is a saw.
You don't have one for a Mac 47 do you?
I'm about to make a post in the Beg for Manuals thread.
To be honest I wasn't sure where/ how to post on there. I searched for 850 IPL, but the results where over all the Arbor Site.
That's why I came back to the McCulloch thread.

I don't really understand how a bearing separator kit would help with this. But i also have never used one.
