use seal all
Nice lookin' 7-10!New addition to the Mac family.
Thanks , yea looking forward to running it , has real good compression, and in good condition. Wondering how it compares to the other 70cc’sNice lookin' 7-10!
Oh boy...Wondering how it compares to the other 70cc’s
I like the 7-10 over the PM 700,it's lighter.Same with the 5-10 & 6-10.Thanks , yea looking forward to running it , has real good compression, and in good condition. Wondering how it compares to the other 70cc’s
The only time I've used sealant on a carb gasket was when I had a Tilly HS that was pretty out of true on the carb body and had a minor air leak. I lightly smeared a thin layer on that exact spot and that fixed the leak, but outside of something like that I wouldn't try it.I usually don't either and didn't on the SP70. I was going thru the manual this pm and that's what it said. think I will just leave them dry.
thanks guys.
I always cheat... I keep a squirt can of two stroke mix and shoot some up the muffler, makes them pop, and they pull fuel faster. I say cheat, cause thats what Bob J calls it. I call it "save my shoulder" lo. Congrats on the 10-10S good sawshad to give my daughter a hand this morning but I had the 10-10S on my bench ready to put back together. antsy all morning. anywho, got it done and it would not start. thought it was still the ignition but put the spark tester on and had great spark. pulled the plug and dribbled in some gas and it fired right up and died. did it again and this time it kept running. yahoo.
when I did the SP70 a few weeks ago it fired on the 2nd pull and ran on the 3rd. this 10-10 I pulled 20 times before I dribbled gas in, and it fired. here's my theory: the SP70 has a Stihl type fuel filter with a screen and weight on the fuel line. the 10-10 has a brand-new fuel line with the cotton or whatever it is filter. I suspect it was taking some time to get fuel thru the cotton into the line and when it fired on prime the vacuum sucked the fuel thru to the carb.
this thing is loud! it has more compression than the SP70. the auto oiler works great, as does the decomp. got one issue though. the throttle is sticky and returns very slowly. it's in the trigger. going to have to drive out the trigger roll pin again I guess and figure that out. not usable as is.
yes, it does. I just checked and the 10-10 has an aluminum handle.Does the SP70 have a steel handle?

I'll give it a try, but I think the trigger was a little sluggish before I even connected the linkage rod. I thought it would loosen up and that the spring on the carb would help. should have known better. thanks for the advice. The slow trigger could be where the linkage goes thru its little boot under the stop switch. Try spraying it with something before tearing it apart. Ive had that hsppen once. Took it apart 3 times and it was still sluggish on returning. Sprayed a carb cleaner on that rubber boot for the linkage and it frred it up. Lubed it with wd40 and no issues. Just a thought.
It's a cam wiper, it has a drop or 2 of oil in it that lubricates the crank and keeps it clean.Time to attack the points in my 2-10 - but is this bit of felt doing what it should be?
