Looks much better. Very good.

I watch that guy too. He does lots of videos. This one has a 27hp kohler v twin. Runs well
yup, same engine. when Kohler first marketed that engine, they called it a 30hp. of course, the gov't requires that you rate hp at the end of the drive train, not at the crank. so now the same motor is a 27hp.

I'm impressed Vinny!

I worked on getting the PM55 together today.I put the clutch on from the original saw, then the tank handle.Followed with the recoil & then the carry handle & rear handle brace. The only thing left to do is put the carb in & fuel it up.I pulled it over to see how much compression the replacement engine had & I was impressed.I probably won't be finishing up on the 55 till later in the week when the weather takes a turn.I want to try to get some light yard work done while this glorious weather here continues.

I have an 034 Super and they are quite a good saw , but the 036 is the 3rd permutation of that saw at its biggest cc, now compared to the 70cc macs it would have a hard time out cutting them.

I have owned since new both a PM700 and an 036Pro. The PM700 with a 28" bar will definitely outperform the smaller Stihl with a 25" bar in greater than bar length wood, but the Sthil is one fine saw and one of my favorites. A/V alone makes it shine over my PM700 (RIP) for continuous cutting.

You still not fixed that 700 yet Ron??

decided to re-shape the homemade dog spike that came with the 10-10S.
Looks sorta like a Dolmar style. Cool.

There are some templates floating around for various styles of both 10 series types. The one on my SP81 is a modified old large frame Stihl dog. Aggressive without looking ridiculous and eating up too much bar length just to make a 'cool factor' statement. I like it.

Also got a new load of firewood logs from my neighbor down the road that will come in handy for maybe getting that saw dialed in once and for all -- or breaking down and finally relenting and going with a chip.

The first log pic looks like pretty ratty stuff but is solid red oak under the weathering. It's been cut and sitting for two years. The other was just cut last week with as much again still coming. I'm good on firewood for awhile.

it's about the only shape I could get after taking out the torch cutting job that was done previously. the dog I made for my SP70 looks kinda ridiculous. I more or less copied the 3 point West Coast Saw felling dog. too big really. nice stock of wood you got there.

Decided to lighten up the hot rod 10-10 some more and put the beat up old starter cover on I had spare. It had sod all paint on it so off came the rest and I've drowned it in oil.

yes missing a screw. Its threaded so will get....

Get your tomatoes and other ammo ready.

Re tapped to M6 :) I know blasphemy but makes sense it's the next size and is handy for us kiwis

Forgot some starter screws and need to put a spike on.

Cleaned it with brake clean air n rags.
Replaced cord
Tank eventually sealed up real nice by itself.
Carb holds a tune mint as so left it alone
Chain will get a mean sharpen and then....

Then it will be seat free to live it's own new life in someone else's shed:(

Quite sad I'd love to keep it . Would probably do someone a main firewood saw for 30 years
