That's a bummer. I have seen people tap them off, but I don't recommend it (puller supports the crank and bearings). I have only ever pulled them off with a puller. The set I use is a steering wheel puller set.
I'll give my neighbor a call tomorrow & see if he has one I can borrow..

Ed - You can use your gear puller, but you will have to make some sort of plate with a hole to fit over the crankshaft and a couple of outboard holes for screws to go into the flywheel. Here is the set up I use to pull flywheels, you get the drift.

Mark,I'm not trying to pull a flywheel.I'm trying to pull the side case off the 450 to replace the seal.

PM6 or Mini Mac 6? There are significant differences.

The PM6 are really nice little saws.

The Mini Mac 6 is one of the worst to get apart since the starter does not come off. You have to adjust the flywheel so the fins pass through the starter "ratchet" on the way out and back in again...

Hey all, where would a guy go to learn about the big top tank saws, maintenance and rebuilding and the like. I've got a 790 and 1-76 I'd like to go through and do gaskets and seals. The 790 needs bearings I think as well. I've watched a few Bryan Gray videos on youtube working on the top tank saws but are there any other good sources of info on rebuilding these big saws?
This is a start... Ipl and service manual for a 790 and other big saws....

I know this has been covered recentl;y,& Jeff & Brian are the main contributors of the flat back carb kits, but I'm in need of a few COMPLETE carb kits that include the pump diaphragms.I noticed that the kits that are made by Joe DiSilva at Sugar Creek don't have the pump diaphragms either. What's a guy supposed to do when the pump diaphragms are as hard as plywood?
I only sell the complete flatback kit. It comes with diaphragm fuel control stack and carb to manifold gasket...

I got the parts I needed for the 650 today from Mark.(thanks Mark!)It included the new .404 sprocket & the muffler cap.I thought I could just swap a bar & chain out from one of my other non-Mac saws, but that wasn't the case.I have a Remington Super 754 that I haven't run in 5 yrs.that has a 30 in.bar & chain on it.The DL count was waaaay too much at 97.From what I could figure it'll take a 93 DL chain, got one ordered from Frawey's.The guy at Frawley's was trying to tell me that it'd take an 89 DL chain..Just carrying the 650 a short distance with the 30 in.bar on it was an eye opener,Lol.
