Vibration, copper work hardens, get brittle and cracks. Copper fuel line is a no-no on most any I.C. engine because a fuel line break can cause fire.

Carl.

Even if it was in a rubber grommet, not cemented into the hole? Is there another type of tubing we could use?

Here is the little thing.

Very nice PM800. I bet you are going to like it. What's that cousin sitting in front of it? Ron

On the Homelite Super XL series I use tygon and a rubber grommet.

Where do you guys get the tygon? Local Stihl dealership or something like that? I read in a couple of threads that there is one type of tygon that was defective or something from the factory?

I have a lawnmower shop about 3 miles from me that sells it. Most of the Stihl fuel lines anymore are molded lines, they're hard to put tygon lines on but I guess it could be done if you just insisted. I've never bought any bad tygon fuel lines but like everything else, I suppose there is some bad stuff somewhere.

I do know of a lawnmower shop close to me, I'll have to drop by see if they have some, and if they do, grab some tygon for future saw projects.
