You are forgiven my son, go forth and sin some more.

There is a McCulloch five cube saw, that can pull a 42" bar.
The hybrid, what were they thinking? 1-60 series.

Back to the G's!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's what I'm talk-in bout!
G's up D's down!

Jon - the Mini Macs certainly don't get a lot of love and they are a pain to work on unless you have a little experience and a lot of patience. They are however nice little light weight saw for when you need one, and even they have a little of the McCulloch bark to them.

The 7-10 is a wonderful saw, very surprising how strong it is in the cut. If yours is low on compression consider giving it a set of rings and you will surely have a smile on your face when your finished.

There's a mini mac on that well known auction site right now. Opening bid is only 50 bucks. Just needs a little carb work. Let the bidding war begin!
:monkey:

Good thing I still have a 110 to get to or I wouldn't be able to resist that deal. :msp_biggrin:

I do need to get it running so I can compare new pointless (Devil Beaver) vs old (110) school. I am sure you all want to know :msp_laugh:

You pay the shipping and I'll send you two at that price, and if you respond within my lifetime or until I scrap them, you can have a third and fourth for the same price. Combined shipping and handling fees apply of course. I make no claims of them running with a little carb work, and we all know on these theres no such thing as a little carb work, as its a "challange" to work on these "gems".

Yes, I was being sarcastic. I tried to get a 110 running once. Had it apart 5 times, rebuilt the carb, still wouldn't run right. Would be fine for awhile, then start running erratically. It's the last and only mini mac I ever want to see again. :msp_laugh:

I think If I were to take the MM, He would have to send ME 50 bucks and provide free shipping. :msp_lol:

Mark,
Thanks for your words of encouragement, it is greatly appreciated.
I bought the MiniMac(1A) which seems to run just fine with three other saws[ Remington YardMaster(runner) Homelite XL(runner) Homelite 150 (non-runner)] $75 for all. I don't feel like I got ripped off. As for the 7-10, I had the compression tested at a friends shop, and it is 140-145. I'm not sure where it should be, but after cleaning the saw real well, and giving it a test run it seems pretty strong, and that throaty tone is dang impressive. In fact I like the sound of it better than my Husky 288xp.

better than a 288???? must be sweet.....i got my 288 out last friday. my brother and i were cutting. he kept picking it up every time i sat it down. he said he liked the sound....then again, his first car was a '70 GTO....oh yeah, i can't get him to bring my 125 home...it has been on a "vacation" at his house the last couple of months. something about a big oak he needed to buck.

I was looking through Ebay ads, and there was a guy selling a MAC 10-10.

He had a video attached. It really made me chuckle. At least he didn't cut his leg off, although the chain was so dull that he probably couldn't. See what you guys think:

Is the chain on backwards???? :msp_biggrin:

Man that was really uncomfortable to watch that video......:msp_unsure: I'm not sure what was worse, the poor cutting, the leg thrown up like that, or the acid-washed jeans...:msp_ohmy:

I would think that if you were going to use a video to help sell your saw that you would want the saw to perform its best.

Trashed My Shiny Cover

Well I used my 81 and heard a noise. Let off ther throttle and the saw cut off. Went to pull the recoil and the rope stayed out. This is what I found. The screw in the recoil backed out pushing the recoil shaft into the flywheel and drove the screw through the recoil cover. If you look at the last pic you will also see that the flywheel cover is cracked too. The whole thing is trash now. So much work for nothing. I guess I should have put some locktight on the screw.

That must be quite a disappointment Mitchell, I've never had one do that to me yet.

I will pay more attention in the future and apply a drop or two of blue lock tite to help insure against similar events.

Do you have a replacement?
