I am still searching for a Super 550 as well, looks like you found a really nice one Chris.

Just to celebrate I'll get my 550 down and fire it up in advance of the GTG down by Belle Plaine at the end of the month.

Mark

You ought to come to the West TN GTG this weekend and I'll bring it and the CP125S for you.

Chris B.

AND I AM SORE!
Just the wife, 2 Belgium's and I.

And it is worth every sore muscle!

Wow! A great looking wife who likes logging, an awesome property (looks like a good place for a GTG :monkey: ), and a couple cool looking Mastiffs. Live is good!!!!
Here's a pic of my Great Dane with the same color

Hey Leeha!

The 48890 carbs you've had... Did they all have the high jet booster venturi in them? Looks like someone went in and removed the one on mine. The port is fine, but I may need to get out the sandpaper and clean it up a little. Kinda curious what that's going to do for the tuning... if and when that dayum motor ever arrives :msp_mad:.

Further, did you have to do any grinding on the tank carb port to "match" it? The tank I have will need to be enlarged to .940. Not a big deal, just curious.

CPR, ordinarily I don't pay any attention to reps, credits and all that other stuff that are listed by one's name but I can't help but be curious as to why you are listed in red on my screen when everybody else is green. Is it the IH factor? Distain for JD green? Or something to do with your saw budget? Ron

I used credits to buy the red. I also bought the red for the subtitle and bought the custom subtitle TURBO = better, but that part of it expired after a few days. Kinda ticked me off 'cuz when i bought it, it never said it was only good for a week, but whatever... 'Long as I get my 101 soon, it's all good.

Don't hate JDs, I've pulled with a 3020 gas, a 700ci 70, and a jumped up 4320...

Thanks for explaining. I'm glad you like Deeres. Not to intentionally offend anyone but when I think of how a chainsaw should sound I think of McCulloch; motorcycles - Harley Davidson; tractors - John Deere (two cylinders and/or 404 cube six cylinders); airplanes - Stearman (radial engines). Ron

We'll agree to disagree on the 6-row, for me it's a Melrose Park turbocharged to within an inch of it's life. For the double barrel, you're correct JD it is. And for me the crispest and LOUDEST on the planet, bar NONE is Tom Chapman's G. Holy smokes is it LOUD!!!

Damn, you guys have all the fun, loud tractors, ample supply of vintage saws, and southern belles. Oh and flat ground to work on.

Heh, right... flat ground... there ain't much around where I live... rolling countryside hills...

Southern belles... yes, we have a few... :D

Vintage saws... I think I'm the only one around here that has one!!!

Loud tractors... yes, my neighbor used to build and race his pulling tractors... Honda CB 750 engines in his own custom chassis... loud and rip-snorting beasts. His son-in-law used to have a CB 750 road bike with one of those tractor pulling engines in it... holy crap, you could hear him when he was about 2 miles away...

he sold it a while back for a price I wish I could've paid... (900 bucks...) that engine would've made the CR-X haul ass. At some point, I hope to learn the porting and polishing tricks my neighbor executed on those engines... I could use the experience. :) IIRC, these 750's were putting out about 140-160 hp... very good for the kind of engine they are... air cooled and all.

Oh, a radial engine makes my heart sing!

New to me

It's not pretty, but I like it. I saw the AC cover on this saw and bout wet myself. I've cruised this swap meet several times and always found, plastic homies and poulans. But Not this year!!!!

It's got major compression and the tank, filter , air-box and carby are clean.
