The company is a defense contractor. The plug wire looks like it is suppressed and waterproof as common for military gas engines. The pulley indicates that whatever it was meant to drive is missing. It has what appears to be a hydraulic valve on the side of the tank. So I am going to guess that it drove a hydraulic pump for something. Ron

I don't know, but I will guess it was made to run a generator of some sort.

Here are a few photo's of collecting this week:

SP81 (project), PM60 (parts), 10-10 (parts-scored), Titan 50 (parts), Titan 57 (complete), 10-10S (complete), 10-10S Special Edition (sweet), PM55 (project), two unidentified 10 Series (parts), and a 3-25 complete with 30" Goose bar, needs a diaphragm that I have at home.

If your saw runs out of gas before you do, then this modification may be just the ticket for you. As for me I can bearly do a tank of gas through my PM700 before my hand goes numb. Ron Never Started? McCulloch Pro Mac 700 Chainsaw Motor With Unusual Modification | eBay

Looks well done (not hack). You can see the frame casting that pivots in the front of the powerhead with a provission for an adjusting bolt at the rear. Very beefy. It's interesting that there's a much larger fuel tank casting........................yet it has a provission for an outboard type fuel tank hookup. Must be made to set up to run for a LONG time....

So that isn't a hydraulic valve. H'mmm I have seen the generator setups, but this looks too beefy. And the generators tend to be integral. Marine application ???? Not painted Navy gray nor olive green. Long run time but no visible throttle control. Part of a cold war CIA psych-op to make Communist loggers feel inferior???

I guess there won't be any counting of the sheep tonight. Ron

No idea why that thing was built. They did put out some effort to make it. That fitting on the side of the tank is similar to a Johnson/Evenrude outboard tank fitting.

aka The Duck of Death.

Randy - He's been doing well. I've not seen any dead mice and yet am envious of the Duke.

Yah, I will post (one of these days) how I have dealt with CAD the last 6 weeks or so ...

Good to see you back, young man ...

Wing Nut

He's doing fine. Same old Duke. On the phone with him right now...:D

I got a PM 1000.
It needs the carb cleaned and new fuel lines. Has good compression and spark.
I need to find a flywheel with starter pawls,Its missing one fin and one pawl.
I need an air filter and some screws too.
Anyone have any parts?

The little red guy screams!!! Now all I have to do is figure out how to control it and how to shoe horn it in to the 125 handle/tank. I won't be able to hear a thing for a week with my left ear - amazing what just a few seconds of high pitch noise can do to you. Didn't bother to put on muffs as what could happen with just 10ccs of fuel in the line. :msp_scared: Ron

I put a 797 muffler on it but the kart tread inserts ran out before I could get it tight. Didn't have any washers small enough to fit in the muffler or small bolts long enough to reach from the outside. I left it on assuming it would help a little with keeping the peace in the neighborhood. Ron

Got a possible line on a pile of old McCs tonight. As described, there's a pile of Minis, a bunch o MexiMac bricks, and some old school good stuff. What's the theme song from the Facts of Life tv show say, something about ya take the good, ya take the bad. If all else fails, I can drop all the minis at the McMuseum in Dike when Mark isn't looking in a couple weeks!
