Hopefully this will prove that I have not totally lost my mind, and that Ron had the tip on posting photo's that worked for me.

Photobucket is fine if you are always on line and have a good connection speed, I prefer to keep my photo's on my computer and work from there. :smile2:

You nailed it. Pic shows up fine.

Well thanks to Mr. heimannm and a little good luck I finally got my ole 2-10g running this evening and I know this is worthless without video, but I will for sure shoot one tomorrow. The luck came that I found a flat back carb kit on ebay after keeping an eye out for one for months. I didn't need a needle but the seller had it too so I thought it might come in handy later. This thing is unbelievable! I dawged it in and pulled up and it just wouldn't bog . I really need a muffler cause it was loud even with earplugs in. The only thing that worried me a little was it seemed to throw a few sparks when under load. They were real easy to see cause it was almost dark, and there is no muffler cover. Are a few sparks normal?

Thank you again Mark for the manual cd. It truly revived a sweet little saw to me.

Oh by the way, originally I was just fixing it for someone else, but he told me if I fixed his Homelite 200 that I could have it, so it is mine forever. :msp_thumbup:

A friend of mine found a couple of old chainsaws in a barn he was tearing down. He just called me and said one is a David Bradley and one is a Mac CP70.
What can you guys tell me about the CP70? The saws are free, so I ain't being picky.

I checked the Acres' site, it looks like a 10-10 on steroids.
72cc of rompin' stompin' fun!

Ed it's a 70cc 10-series with AV. The father of the SP-80. Check the intake boot.

I don't know the spec's for the Titan 620 but watching the video of my Titan 57 and comparing I'd say they are in the same class. I like how nimble the 57 feels compared to some of the other saws I use.

a couple of cool things that are noteworthy about this titan 620. the fuel cap says 20:1 mix on it, the saw seems too new to be running that high mix. also, the compression is stout enough that it will snatch the starter out of your fingers if you don't start it carefully. there is no decomp button to be found on the saw. i might open the exhaust port and muffler on it just a little and put on a 20" bar. the 24" bar that is on it now has a chain that files with a 3/16 file. i didn't check what brand of chain is on it, but it is a 3/8. if i put a 20" bar and a 72lgx on it...it should show off a little better

You won't like it. Send it to me. Way different than the last Mac you worked on.:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

Yeah, send 8433 the Mac... (did I just say that?)

Meanwhile, ship the big ******* of a DB over my way... I wish to hear it bark...

I hear they're real loud... which is a good thing, of course. I can't hear worth a crap anyways, so properly loud volume is needed to ensure proper tuning of a saw... and proper early Saturday morning awakening of the neighbors... :hmm3grin2orange:

was pondering bar options again and browsing the Oregon catalog and wondered if anyone has tried the following bar on their bigger old macs (super 250 or 300, etc)

270GNDD196 (27", .050 gauge, 3/8 tip. D196 mount is 9.5mm)

so, here's the kicker. they make replacement tips for the GN series bars. there is a .404 sprocket tip that you can get p/n 30855

so if you put that tip on and widened the mount by half of a millimeter then you'd could throw a .404/.050 chain on there and have a new bar.

i've seen that bar above listed online for like 75 bucks and the .404 sprocket tip for around 15, so for 90 + shipping you could have yourself a new bar.

is this a crazy idea? are the oiler holes gonna be a weird problem? that oiler channel is pretty big on my super 250, so i figure it could work pretty easily.
