Those are some very sweet 797's Lee..Very nice work my friend. Me and JP are on our way to clean your shop:rock::rock::rock:

Kendall - Winding the spring in the center pull models is actually quite easy, put a large screw driver in the slot on the end of the shaft, slip the pin out of the pinion gear, and wind it up...

Mark

kendall - it's much easier the second time... just so you know.

McCulloch Pro Mac 10-10

Still setting on the bench in pieces, I was home last week but still recovering from the last long trip so I didn't get much shop time in. In Quebec this week, hopefully home again for the weekend - we have a tree project lined up - then home for a week so maybe I will get to look at that one.

I know how it goes for the most part Mark.

i believe they are technically kart engines. a shame since the saw itself is such a bastardized piece of engineering.

What? Who you callin' bastard? :hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

Drop-head did not = kart. Why? Cuz' Bob wuz makin' em that way that day.

Here is the piston numbers from McCULLOCH for your 850 #92518, #92519, #92520

Cascade Saw

Yep, but you MUST match the piston to the cylinder. Look for a letter stamped on the head near the comp release bore. "A" matches the 92518 piston. "B" (or no letter stamp) matches the 92519 piston. "C" matches 92520. The pistons will usually have the letter ink stamped onto the crown.

Which one is technically a kart engine? If you're referring to one of the saw engines with a removable head, they are not
technically a kart engine. They have different port timing, stroke length, and much different "lag" time.

I see my idea is catching on a bit of a fiddle but it does go together .......................

McBob.

meh - your Blue Coat webfilter category is "none" so computer nazis here at work block it. i actually thought i got the info on the d-36 engine on your site... my memory ain't my strong suit, however.

Are your sure JJ? Every ebay auction I see says kart in the listing, and some even have removable heads:D. I think on ebay Mac=kart.
