OT - You might be better off saving your money and waiting for a nice 10 Series to come along. Almost any of the 10-10 saws would be more fun and productive to run than a little plastic Mac.

If shipping weren't cost prohibitive, I could send you 3 or 4 of the little Mac's to tinker with but the end results would not be any more satisfying.

I'm def going to get a larger saw but like I said I found this one locally on CL for $25. If the saw doesn't need major surgery I figured I could get it running and then flip it for a few extra bucks. Not sure the age of this saw and if its points or electronic ignition. Just looking for some advice from the pros, thanks so far:msp_thumbup:

Heres a pic of it, havent seen it in person yet.

He's trying to tell you nicely... that it's not worth the $25. It's going to cost that much or near that to fix it and then definitely not worth $50 to break even or $75 to make a profit.

And the picture didn't work.

Ahh well no need to beat around the bush, just tell me straight out. Ill put the link up to the image. FYI I dont factor in my time to fix it when looking to make a profit, id look at it at work when its slow here.

Thanks for the help winner

He DID tell you the right displacement (82cc). The 1200hp@27,000RPM bit is a punch line that Randy has used a few times. We joke around a bit here. Grow a thicker skin, buy that sense of humor that Randy recomended...........and tune up the spelling and punctuation in your posts while you are at it. This isn't text messaging. Even those of us that sometimes post with smartphones (as I am doing now) STILL make an effort to make our posts not sound/look like they were 'texted' by a pre-teen.....

sad realisation

After following this and other threads on this website, I realize that I gave away my father's Mac 380, with full wrap handle. Having used it a few times I found it very heavy. I know I'm a wimp! I switched to his other saw a Pioneer 1073 which I still have. Much easier to use saw for an occasional user. So there is one Happy Guy in Michigan who bought this great saw on Ebay for just $50.00.:tongue2: Since being bitten I've picked up 6-7 more saws and another one tomorrow.

This site is great for help.

That would put it at 8200HP

would you settle for a 72 hp mac ?

Mac. 72 hp aircraft engine. Can be used on gyrocopter. | eBay

Before Mac sold motors for saws to Reed Prentice-Craftsman in the mid forty's they were producing Drone airplane motors.

You will notice the cylinders are very similar on the drone as the later Reed prentice Timberhog- craftsman 1200 and RP 50 motor.

There are quite a few of these drones still floating around. this one belongs to a freind named Bud, Local collectors Trover and Sutton also have a few each.
