Am I the only one who had to reread that thinking he meant "kart motor" not "class"?

I was joking as if it was a college course, 101 being the first course you would take in a particular subject. This is what ive heard, not like i went to college or anything. I prefer to turn wrenches as my profession. Just new to the chainsaw world, from an outsider looking in yall are speaking chinese :msp_biggrin:

Do not give up on it quite yet, many of these saws will interchange parts easily. A couple 10-10s and a SP60 then cruiz the scrap yards for a PM850 or other 82 cc saw and you could be up and running. My CP70L was toast and now it is a fine 82 cc saw with more compression than my SP81.

Well all I guess I have no choice but to go forward with Project POS. eBay informed me today they have decided in sellers favor. Made a phone call and apparently because it's listed as parts or not working I have no case. So I'm a little irritated but screw it "we have the technology, we can rebuild him!"

MAC 47 value help please

Just found a mac 47 not running in fair cond,so I ask the guy if he wants to sell and this is what I get. Well I wouldnt even know where to start with a price bla bla bla bla. So I say hows about 50 bucks, The guy starts laughing and says, I had some guy from canada up to 325 but he never came and got it. SO now its worth 325. OK buddy, so in reality what would a mac 47 be worth? I thought 50 for a saw missing a couple parts that had no spark was a more then fair offer or am I just off my rocker??

$50 is more than fair, I think the guy accidentally put a 3 in front of the actual price as I would pay no more than $25.

Maybe $300 comes with it, check the gas tank!:msp_confused:

Another night fighting flatback fuel pumps (pretty well convinced the diaphram and gaskets are ULTRA touchy), plugging a leaky tank, and listening to the Tigers waste another good starting pitching performance.

Ooooohhhh, muckaluck, lol!

Yea kinda what I had thought, it did have a very nice b&c. But I kinda figured it wasnt worth 325 WOW!! He tryed to tell me that those were the saws that guys wanted for go carts. Mabey a really slow go cart, cant imagine that old thing spins up to high. Plus I got a first hand look at a cart saw at the gtg we just had last weekend. Witch was Wicked Fun by the way, It went by so fast my head is still spinning.

I feel your pain.

paint or no paint

For display saws, "shelf Queens" deserve a little paint. But your work saws will never look pretty so why bother. It just depends how much time you have to invest.
My SP-81 had been painted by the PO. It looked like he stood bout 5 feet away tried to hit the yellow parts. Man it was ugly. so when I had the tank off for new A/v mounts, I couldn't resist to give it a little upgrade in yellow paint. Nothin fancy, just plain old equipment enamel. Al least now I'm not embarrassed to pull it out of the back of my truck. ;)

I feel your pain.

It's the pump section diaphram, specifically the check valves. It's not closing. Instead of pumping into the carb, it's pressurizing the tank. If I pull the line and load it, then rope over the motor, instead of drinking it, it spits it all out.

No idea what to do now. They're all doing it. Another $25 kit won't fix it.

I think Mark H had an extensive thread dealing with these carbs .... I'll try to find it here.

EDIT: Found it HERE .. Also, I found som eother posts of Mark's that would indicate a strip-down thorough cleaning will straigten it out. Good luck!
