I finally got the photo's on to my computer...as promised the 1-51 from Mr. Bowsaw (Cliff).
After taking the photo's I did find the spike Cliff sent along so that is now mounted as well.
Enjoy!

Have you run it yet?

Pictures are good but videos we love. : )
Perhaps I can get over to Mweba's on Saturday, he normally has some logs to cut on and can handle the video part of the operation.
I'd like to try the 655 I just finished as well. It did not work properly at the GTG last month due to carburetor issues.

on a side note, why did the PM700 die? you could bring it back to life?
Not perfect, but pretty good. Waiting on a few small essential parts. Will probably have it running next week.
I'm also on a SP81 project. i just got a 20" sprocket nose bar and put a .404 tip in it. the bar is .058ga. i plan to run a 8 tooth rim. i'm looking for a chain recomendation. I've been looking at some Oregon chain and the Carlton, but i need the experts opinion. its just for show off purposes, i may use it sometimes for scaring my buddies that use those creamsicle saws.
also, how many links?

OT - I think you will have to re-badge that saw to call it a 2-10S (Special) as a real 2-10 would run the little bull frog carburetor.
Modified Mark gave me a nice 2-10 a couple of years back and with a little work and adjustment the saw runs just fine. Actually the strange little carburetors were quite innovative, just too different for most to be comfortable to work with...that and the fact that like all things McCulloch at the time there were at least 5 or 6 varients of the carburetor each with their own little quirks.

I have the chance to buy an S 44. It appears to be in pretty good shape and he claims it runs good. I've never bought a McCulloch that runs before. I'm confused.
Heres the 2-10.......took it apart and cleaned it up a bit and gave it a quick scrub n' shoot paint job. Not bad. I changed the top tank/air box from a later saw that has the safety in the handle and was tapped ready to go for the cube style carb.( thanks joeymt33) I ran into a few snags here and there but i think i have everything straightened out. Ill bolt the carb on tomorrow, I have a few carb gaskets to make.
Did you try the old carb after the ignition upgrade to see if it would run or were you too far in at that point?
