Very interesting. The Oz 73A looks like it has a 77 tank. Heck..........it looks a lot like a 77 in general. I'm curious to see what's shared with what model...opcorn:
Great stuff Cliff and Bob. That 49 seems to be a RARE bird. At least in the US..........the 49 is basically a 77 with less displacement (If I understand correctly). They look identical on the outside (77 and 49).
Yup, work and family have kept me out if the shop lately. This morning I filled out my order to finish two yellow threads that never got all the way done. Tomorrow, I have a stop to finish a green one.

Pieced this 3214 together with parts from 08F150, 67L36driver and a few other members. Did the usual muffler mod and replaced all the usual maintenance parts including fuel and oil lines. Have a new 14" mac bar and chain on the way, once I get it bolted on ill fire it up. I took apart and cleaned up the carb but i didnt replace the diaphram etc....yet. I figured worse case scenario if its acting up the carb is easily accessable unlike the mini's. I know these saws are plastic and MAC's last run but they are pretty reliable. Have another 3516AV to fix after this one, we will see what happens
If someone ever pisses you off squirt that tube of valve grinding compound in somebody's engine(or a fresh quart of oil strategically placed) ....wont take long for a rod to come out the side of the block......just saying
Since the are a few of you guys now that love these things.....
I need some mini mac info.
My neighbor, whom I owe big time, gave me a saw to fix up for him. It was his Paps and it means a lot to him, so I wanna help him out. I have a pile of these and would like to use a running newer engine in his mini Mac 1. Can I do this? Will the newer engine fit? Fingers are crossed for good news.
Has anyone ever seen a 10-10 air filter cover like this? Just wondering, The saw is on Ebay and looked odd...

Yep, it will bolt right in. Just check out the kill switch situation if the engine you want to use is from a later model with electronic ignition, off the top of my head I don't remember how the newer ones are wired but the old points boxes have a stab the switch slides into. You will see when you pull them apart. Shouldn't be a big deal either way.
Another thing is your going to be fighting that pain in the ass fixed recoil on the MM1, just make sure the starting pawls are the same if not swap em on the flywheel. Good luck.
