Looks like this might show up on ebay soon. He makes a video every time he sells something.

Is that another one or the one Mark bought?

What are the chances of Rich coming up with another NIB engine? What was the date on the video? If it is legit it is a great time to get it when everyone spent their wad on guns and ammo of late.

I believe he has found another one caused the video was published this morning. We'll just have to wait and see what shows up on ebay.

Mr. Dugan is the goods! I have been by his shop in Myrtle Creek a few times, and he set me up with some parts to rehab my 075. I would buy from him again if I were in the market. That is a nice looking engine. Anyone have specs on how many HP that thing produces?

I think that full wrap is from a later model...don't the full wraps for the right hand start models clearance the clutch cover more, allowing more hand room?

Still looks good, I think I'm going to put a full wrap on my 5-10E...but I only have the left hand start version (of the handle).

Eccentric, I'd love that 650...it's just bad-a$$...but I'm a little cash poor right now unfortunately!

Thanks Andy. I can relate. That's why the 650 is on the block right now.......

McCulloch BP-399T

According to the Popular Science December 1970 issue it was rated at 30 HP.

The SAE document 720260 has it listed at 31.

I still haven't been home long enough to get mine mounted to something solid so I can start it up.

The one he has now has a different Serial number, mine is 11-0010097 and the one in the video is 11-0010086. This time he is including the original owners manual, I only got a copy.

It really is something how he comes up with all this stuff including hard to find long bars and then two of the Twin cyclinder engines. What else is he holding back on:msp_sneaky:

Having two of those might be considered "over the top"...

Mark

Could one of those be converted into a semi modern 2 man saw? I think having a few of those laying around would increase the endless possibilities of what could be done with them and still have one NIB.

Having 65 saws in decent runnable condition on shelves in a garage along with two or three pickup loads (full size, not a newer Ranger:msp_tongue:) of swag and other Mac stuffs might be considered "over the top"...

Basically Mark, you've screwed yourself....

You'd have to bolt on one of these to impress us:

:hmm3grin2orange:

If you look at the design of the balanced piston engines, you will see that they in fact have the "supercharger" built right in - the action of the balance piston works to increase the vacuum in the crankcase when the pistons move away from the crankshaft, increasing the fuel/air charge forced into the crankcase, and then increases the pressure in the crankcase when the pistons move towards the crankshaft for a more dynamic charge into the combustion chamber when the transfers open.

Of course adding a genuine McCulloch supercharger would be pretty cool as well...
