I saw one of those on CL for around $100. I left it alone. If it was maybe $50, i would have got it.

It's like the 690, which is the 610 version.

I wonder if you could just hunt down the cutting wheel attachment and bolt in on to a $5 powermac.......i would be a little cautious of using a circular saw blade on it and not a cutting disc:msp_mellow:

I like the taped up safety lever on the SP40, used to do that to my e-brake handles in my car during a snow storm:D

those were both my father's back in the day. he bought them both new and used them for firewood saws around his property. I think the mm35 is from 75 and the sp 40 is from 77. just curious, why tape e-brake handle in snow storm? we don't get many snow storms down here in texas. It is 70 today with a 70% chance of storms, weird even for us this time of the year.:eek2:

Power slide in the snow. Its a quick grab n pull around turns to kick the *** out sideways on the car. Works best with front wheel drive cars obviously:D

Messed around with the SP40 today. Got it 75% back together, installed the nova chip, changed the sprocket drum to 3/8". Has a new fuel line. Just cleaned everything up and rolling the dice. Tomorrow I'm going to take the carb apart and clean/rebuild it and make a carb base gasket. Other then that its ready for fuel, pics will follow shortly.

Did you tear into the 3818 I saw the nice new bar and muffler mod.

Yea man, took the carb apart, cleaned it and put it back together, had some crud in it. I didnt replace the diaphram and what not in it yet, it seemed usable. I will prob fire it up saturday. No reason why it shouldnt run.
