What chain was on the 346?

That would probably explain how it cut with the 044.

go away son you bother me, unless you got something nice to say i don' wana' hear non of it.

ha!

It was just a question. No reason to get your panties in a wad. It's no different than a 260 cutting the same time as a 372. Ain't gonna happen if all parts are equal.

ha, after all the trash you gave me.

equal? NOT!

if everything was equal it would all be the same.

Here is a good picture of how we were cutting, that is XJ with his 029S. His 361 had the "lake muffler mod" and it was over a second quicker than our stockers, very impressive. I also noticed while bucking a log that large volume of exhaust was exiting this new port. If you have a stock 361, mod that muffler!

I know Wanabe is going to post the vids but here is a breakdown of the races. His 621 was feeling sick on and off but looked good during the cuts that it made for the 361. The 621 and 361 were pretty close. Ya'll will have to judge the 026 vs 346. We did 4 cuts, 2 with a 20" bar, 2 with a 16". I think he beat me in the 20" race and the 16" were close. I ran the 346, not a bad saw at all. Revs really quick and cuts smooth.

Thanks guys for coming out, it was nice to meet the faces behind the handles. I didn't think this type of cutting would work, at first, but everyone had fun. I look forward to having another, we can do it somewhere else or at the FD again.

What saws are fastest in one type and size of wood doasn't bother me at all - what you like to run, and having fun is much more important.....:rockn: :rockn:

All the trash? Thin skinned are we?

So tell me how a 346 cuts the same as a 044 and MUCH faster than the 026 in decent sized wood. Not gonna happen if the chains are equal.

Drop the attitude and use some logic here. It makes no difference to me which saw wins, but something is amiss here.

it seems it makes a flyin' **** to you because you needed to comment. what is amiss is you are a tool and dont have any idea what you are talking about. there was nothing special about mine or 2000ssm6's chains.

2000ssm6 026 "runner, just ask master THALL" 20" bar
time was 19.9 sec. in 16"-18"

wanab 346xpNE 20" bar
time was 13.0 sec. in 16"-18"
LMAO!

Too much difference, really - I also wonder about the set-ups.........:)

Ha! I've NEVER once attacked you.

You're missing the point. Use some logic here. How is a 3.8hp(?) 346 cutting the same as a 5.4hp saw. All the while beating a slightly less powerful saw by a wide margin.

My 280 is similarly powered to your 346 and it won't even come close to my 441 in this size of wood. We're talking 5-6 seconds at least.

That little 346 was a screamer for sure.:D The 16" bars were much closer. I had to grab the 20" b&c off my 440 for this race, the rakers were pretty low because the 440 has no problem pulling large chips.:)

We will go at it again, with different chains, sometime.

LOL, POS vs POS........:D

:ices_rofl:

I was waiting for a comment like that from you:ices_rofl:.:jester: I ran the 455, it would serve it's purpose as a firewood saw. I would only buy from a dealer though, if it devolped problems. Same goes for the 029, they have cut lots of wood. The only thing that makes these saws look bad is when you grab a 361 or 357.........but at twice the $$$, most won't care.

Was it 3/8" chain on the 346 as well?

Personally I believe both would have been doing better with .325, with 20" bars, in that log....:D

this is a neat little saw, much better than pullon' cr@p. saws was brand new out of the box and very, very, tight. stunk like hell too.

Look like a good time was has by all.. but... I'm stihl wrestling with the "cut inside" so we don't get a sunburn :monkey: Maybe it's just a PNW thing to cut outside. :ices_rofl: :ices_rofl: :ices_rofl:

I wanted to use the FD due to the kitchen area:D , I planned for 10 people. We have frequent storms and they were calling for shotty weather all weekend. In the summer, after a rain here, the hudmity is insane. I offered to do another in late fall, outside, with much bigger wood.:rockn:

I would have liked to made it out to Booker's/PNW GTG. Ours went well though and had fun.

this next saw i want no part of, well maybe when i get that BB makita. ;)

I was just watching the vid. I took of that same cut -- very impressive. Love the way the chips just pile up.

things look better for the 026 with shorter bars, well, maybe not.
