went with the MS660 - So far very happy with it.

Congrats from a new owner as well! I purchased my MS660 new yesterday at our local Stihl dealership for $999 with a 25" bar. Wanted a 32" to 36", but I will add that on soon to clear stumps that I got tired of trying to remove with my 029 Stihl 20" that's 16 years old. The MS660 is a great machine. Did not go with the Husky 395XP after I actually handling the saw, too much plastic and no one to service it my area as well. Here are my old and new Stihls below.

Congrats! I also purchased a MS660 Magnum with a 25” bar yesterday from my local Stihl dealership with service at $999. After 16 years I decided to upgrade my 029 Stihl 20", since as I get older the work just gets harder. This 660 has lots of power, and previous complaints about "damaging vibration" is way overstated IMO. I plan to also add a 32" bar for those large stumps which are a chore and PITA for my 029. I can’t wait to clear those 10 dead trees nearby for more firewood this year. Before buying Stihl again, I did look at the Husky line and the 395XP, however, to me the MS660 Stihl has a higher quality build overall and a metal casing. I was also worried about the quality of service provided in my area for Husky.

With a 25" bar, you should consider running an 8 pin rim. It will pull it, no problem.

Indeed. I run that setup now and then on my ported 660 just to watch how fast it eats wood. Talk about screamin'! Thinking it might be time to try it with a 9 pin.

You will like the Sugihara. I've run that bar on the ported 660, and it's a rocking combo! Most excellent bar!
