I was traveling today and stopped by the Stihl dealer in a nearby town. He prices his chains at $4 above bar length. A 16"=$20, 20"=$24, 24"=$28. He has a buy one get one free day in the fall. That is pretty good prices if you hit the right day. If you do not then he is much higher than the other dealers in the area. This is for Stihl brand chain. Now before you get excited no the buy one get one free does not apply to carbide chains.

The everyday price is a buck for an inch of bar for 1 chain. Multiples drop the price down to 12=16", 13.50=18", and 15.00= 20". We sell over a mile of chain every year so far just in Stihl, not sure about Oregon and other brands.
