okay, guess its easy to say my perception is/was totally off. also, i feel as if i might (as in DO for sure) owe some apologies to some of youse guys (mark). at the very least i gotta eat some of that crow. dayum that stuff tastes like.......crow. i just forgot to pay attention to the relevant part of one of my borrowed old sayings - "never believe anything you hear and only half of what you see". okay, i'm gonna go off to my hole now.

Jerry, Here is a pic I have posted a couple times.;) The piston on the left, is un-plated with thin rings. The piston on the right, is Chromed, with thick rings. Gives you a side by side comparison. The one on the left, is what 4000's & most 3700's will look like. The right one, is what 3400's & 3800's will look like.

Poulan Super 33 oil cap

Does anyone have one of these? I would like to see a pic of what the original oil cap (plug) looks like. Mine is all mangled, and I don't believe it's original...because, I just picked up a John Deere 50V and it has the exact same plug. I doubt if anyone took one from a 33 to put on the Deere, but who knows!!!

Is that the Briggs & Stratton type oil plug? Lots of Poulan saws had them.

HOLY SMOKE, $391.55 + 21.72 shipping for a S25? I know it has AC branding but damn that's a lot of money for that saw, IMHO seller made out well. It must be a shelf queen for the remainder of it's life.

They sure did! If you look at some of the things they have sold, makes you wonder if it didn't take them completely by surprise.

I wonder if the buyer was aware that he was buying a little chainsaw, and NOT a tractor!:D:msp_scared:

Kind of makes one want to search for some old out-of-business Allis Chalmers dealers ;). I wonder what a large Allis Chalmers chainsaw would bring?

Here's an active listing. The BIN seems reasonable, but I don't know how many folks would be comfortable with the "epoxy" repair.

No, the B&S plug has coarse threads, this one has fine.

I've never seen a plug like that one. Have you looked at the threads on the oil tank? I've seen mis-matched plugs threaded into where they shouldn't be, especially plastic ones.
I have a John Deere 80V saw and it doesn't have a plug like that. Mine's the same as the Echo 750.

Need help with an ID

Does anyone know if the small P series Pioneers ( p22, p25, p26, p28) are really Poulans ? I saw something today in Parps that gave me a possible clue.

I know it's not the right one for the 50V, I'm trying to find one for that, too...BUT..the one in the 50V has good threads, and works kinda well in the Super 33. If it's not the right plug, at least it'll work until I can find one.......
