3450

It looks like the 3350,3500, or 3600.
It definitely isn't 3450,3750. Or at least it don't look like it to me.

Mark will be along shortly.

I agree it is definitely not a 3450 or 3750 they have a different top cover and air filter cover.

I can't tell the difference from his picture but the basic construction of these saws are very close therefore I pretty much lump them together. They are vastly different from the 2900 series and the older 3700 series. Shoot me if I am wrong.

Yeah but I forget ####.

One of the green 60cc saws had the same wide top covers as the PP336 and PP365 and I think the other had the a narrower top. I think it was the 3500 that had the narrower top.

Dont shoot me please if I'm wrong.

Hey Guys,

I picked up a couple of tubes of MotoSeal for one of our great members here and got a couple of extra.
PM me if any of you are having trouble getting this stuff.

Mike

I was looking in acres site in the Poulan section and checking specs on 3700's and the 4000. They have listed max free spin rpm at 8500 and that just seems low to me. I do not have one of these but I am considering looking for one. I know the 395 I have which is very similiar seems like it is capable of much more RPM and still be tuned correctly. Have any of you checked any of these saws and what RPM they are actually capable of. Just curious.

Sounds like rpm's in the cut at wot. Many of my 3400, 3700 and 4000's easily reach 10,500 out of the cut. 11,000 would be as comfortable as I'd like. Naturally this refers to a stock saw.

You might be but I'm not sure..my 3500 doesn't look like the saw pictured, mine has the wide top and no chain brake, just a hand guard, but it might be an older version or something...

3000 series (3000, 3100, 3450, 3500, 3600 and there may be more)

It is a pro grade saw and not a clamshell.

Well, I'm not sure what model it is. A US 2800 or 3000 didn't come with a chainbrake that I know. Canadian 3000's with chainbrakes were orange. I'd guess its a newer model 3500 or higher. Strictly a WAG however.

I personally like the MotoSeal better than the Threebond.
It seems to be thicker and easier to work with than the threebond.

Mike

Yea, Mike I was a firm Dirko user. However the handling time is very short. I lile the Motoseal #1 as it has a much longer handling time. However they both work very well.

Looking for parts 3400 countervibe

Well a 3400 CV followed me home. Now gotta find parts for it. The green finish on the handle and frame is pretty bad, but the saw is complete. Took it down looks like gonna need a set of rings, carb kit, set of gaskets and fuel lines, just for starts. Someone left the poor thing outside on side of the road waiting for the trash truck. Set there for close to a year before I rescued it. Surprised it didn't get stolen. Guess even thieves are stihl and husky prejudice. I am color blind I guess.

Carb kit will be Walbro K10-HDB. I use .211 OD Tygon fuel line, some use 3/16 OD. You'll also most likely need duckbill valve and the small fuel line fitting that attaches it to the vent line if you want to replace the vent as original. If it's not intact check carefully inside the fuel tank before you discard any contents to see if that fitting is in there. There's a good thread on the forum that shows how to replace the lines. http://www.arboristsite.com/chainsaw/156629.htm Rings and gaskets might be a problem. You can go on Poulan's site (Ordertree) to see if they are still available. You can find the IPL on there to look up the part #'s. Most likely as far as gaskets you'll find some of the individual seals on there.

BTW - If you're blowing 125 psi or more on the compression gauge, you may be able to get along w/o replacing rings right away. You can also pick up a bit by sealing the jug w/o the base gasket. There were three popular sealants listed in the posts just prior to yours.

How is it that if someone else had taken it, it would have been stolen but, when you took it you were rescuing it?

Did you just speak to the owner before you obtained it? Just curious.

If it was alongside the road for a year they must have not wanted it too bad. If it were mine I would have gone back the same day to retrace my travels to try and find it.
