Mark would probably know the weight, but the brakes on these are all mag with steel guards, I can definately feel the difference between my 4000 and 395 which both have the brakes and my 3.7 which has the plastic cover and no brake. But its not that bad.

The one I have is a far cry from looking like that. Who knows one day I may find a brake for it and redo the whole thing. Thanks for showing that again.

I dont think that I ever weighed a 4000 or my 395. I know a mag cover 3400 is right at 14lbs and that chainbrake cover is heavy so I would guess the PP395 to be 14.5-14.75 lbs.

Good luck with that. It's been crazy windy here.

Well if it wont lay down I at least it stays blowing in the same direction that it is now. Pretty much the direction I want the tree to go anyway. ;)

Got some saws laid out, were going to cut a couple down in the morning. First chance I have had in sometime and will have some help. Besides I need some logs here, as I hear I might have some saw buddies over next weekend and we need something to play on.

Nothing huge just a couple standing deads about 2' across.

Laid out the PP365 20", PP330 20", 3000 16" and a Husky 268XP 24".

You guys was asking me how the 365 and 330 compared and I dont think I ever ran them together before, so thats why I chose those two.

I almost grabbed the PP395 with a 24" on it but have not ran the 268 since I got it, so we will give it a go.

I know it will be cold in the AM but I hope the wind lays down at least.

Have a happy festive season gentlemen. May you and your families enjoy the best of health and good cheer. I am taking the child bride down to the coast for a week or so to feast on King George whiting and snapper. Going to work through a few bottles of single malt and a half a dozen of so old Hemingways and Steinbeck's. Think I will start with Cannery Row but To Have and Have Not might get the nod. I am going to throw a S25DA and my new 3800 in to work on while there. Only need about six tools and some tygon to pull them down and get them going.

Been a busy year and can't believe it is over - didn't get half the things done that I planned. You fellows have provided lots of help and even more entertainment. Thank you for including me in this fine thread - I am darn sorry that I don't have more smart things to say. My dream is to make the 12,000 mile trip to a Poulan GTG one of these years - before I am too old and weak to start a saw, Gregg! Not sure whether foreigners are welcome but I am kind of friendly.
May you all find the box of NOS Poulan parts of your dreams.

You guys don't wait to long to attend a GTG. We aren't getting any younger ya know.:D I can see it now. We are all at a GTG with are nice big Poulans, and nobody can pull the starter ropes any more. :bang: Will have to make sure we have at least one young guy there, to start em for us. I guess Mike & Mark are still in that catagory, at least for a couple years yet.:ices_rofl:

Gregg,

Right you are Gregg. My age is showing. Had to dig three post holes yesterday for my son who conveniently had to work . God! Thought I was going to die and I'm a big guy at 6ft. 3 and 270 lbs. Problem is I'm 67 so I can't recover as fast as I did when I was younger.
Happy Holidays to all.
Bob

405, 455, 525, 655 service manual finally scanned

As promised, here is a link to the Poulan \ Pioneer saw service manual.

Sorry I double scanned a couple of pages in section 50 so don't you other geezers think you're having a bad day regarding deja vu.
The younger pre-geezers should have no problem getting over this error on my part.
It's in media fire.

Tim
