This is the handle from a 3700 that bought awhile back and welded back together. I only welded this on just one side and not on the back side like I usually do. I just wanted to show this so that even with one side welded up it still has the strength to hold up very well even in a stressed area such as this.

One of these days without a doubt I'm going to need you to weld something for me. Don't right now but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I get screwed on eBay AGAIN and will need your help.

Well I see that 5200 in your sig and I can't seem to dig one of those up. Really annoying.

I know. My favourite saw by far. It just appeared one day for $75. Strong runner. An absolutely incredible machine.
I think I've picked up a good bunch of saws in the last 11 months of collecting.
I also have a great liking for 2 other good size reed valve saws there as well. Especially the one from Peterborough.

All it takes is some practice you can do it. Or you can send them here to me no problem.

And I appreciate it.

If you keep doing them for me though it aint helping me get around to doing them myself. Aint nothing else I cant weld though, gas weld, arc or mig, but I just never tried the tig and I have had one here for at least 5 years.

It's ya own dang fault then....my excuse is I don't own a tig, I have stick, gas, and mig.

you just need to break up some junk parts and practice putting them back together....:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

but wait...that would detract from your restoration efforts.......:msp_confused::msp_confused: so many saws, so little time...

I thought my C.A.D. was in remission, I hadn't bought an old Poulan or other nice old saw in over a year....then I bought 6 Earthquakes to play with....oops. I have way more projects than I have time....what was I thinking....

and I keep looking at that Tim Allen edition 3.7....got to resist...

Let me help you out and just tell ole Rog where that Tim Allen is. :msp_rolleyes:

fuel line routing at rear handle CV mount 2300CVA

I feel a little dense asking this but, for those of you with 2300 cva's, does the fuel line exit the tank and go through the hole in the rear of the starter/left side cover --> the hole in the steel handle av bracket and into the handle channel? Looks like that makes sense to me but it would make it a pain to get the starter off so I thought I would ask.

Thanks

You guys don't wait to long to attend a GTG. We aren't getting any younger ya know.:D I can see it now. We are all at a GTG with are nice big Poulans, and nobody can pull the starter ropes any more. :bang: Will have to make sure we have at least one young guy there, to start em for us. I guess Mike & Mark are still in that catagory, at least for a couple years yet.:ices_rofl:

Gregg,

Don't worry Gregg I'm only 22 and I plan on keeping my saws for a lifetime, so ill be there someday!

LOL, I can still start & use em, no problem. But unfortunately that day will come.:( I think I'm good for a while yet. Just have to take more frequent breaks, than I used to.

What part of Conn. are you located in? That name don't ring a bell with me. I lived in Ct. for 18 years. Danbury/Ridgefield area. Western part of the state.

Gregg,

scoring?

metal coil AV and it works great. Seem to be well built little saws. The ones I have are 38 cc,s

any scoring on the pistons or cylinders?i read the thread on them early and saw one had a scored piston all your good? have you had a chance to check them all yet?

yes

Yes that's where the fuel line goes. Some have a joiner near the tank so you can replace one half or the other without doing the whole thing. Mine I can't seem to get to run from the tank although it has good spark and good comp? Mine is the Craftsman version with chainbrake 2.3 or 38cc.

Merry Christmas

Thanks Lee. I have the same saw. I'll let you know how mine runs or if I have any issues with pulling fuel. I don't have acarb kit for it yet but I will put one in. I do that on most saws I get. It just seems to make that difference between running borderline and really well.
I don't have a chain for it yet. Maybe Santa will bring me one.

Merry Christmas.

Tim
