I ran across a 4200 series saw in my travels today. It was light blue in color. Sorry, didn't get any pics, will try to get some next week when I go back. Anybody got any ideas on who it was made for? The Guy doesn't want to get rid of it (Da#* it). Was his grandpa's. No tag, no decals, no nuthin'.

No, cant think of any that were blue at all. Make sure you get a picture and post it up!

Naw, I never seen one before!

Didn't look like there was any other paint under the blue. Gotta go back next week so I'll get some pics. I wouldn't mind if he just traded me the saw for the work I'm doin'.

Well I will be waiting to see it. From what documents I have seen the 4200/5200 saws were not relabled very much. Only ones I can think of off hand were Dayton which were orange, Ridgid which were sliver and Craftsman that were red.

Might be some more for export that I dont know of though.

Edit, there might have been a Target branded saw and the Target cutoff saws were blue....

That was my first thought when I first saw it. I suppose it's possible that it was converted to a chainsaw. Just have to find out more about it.

My CRS conversations with my wife go something like this:
She says, "You forgot to remember to remind me not to forget (whatever)."
I reply, "If you can remember to remind me that I forgot to remember to remind you not to forget (whatever), then you should've remembered in the first place."
Sometimes she laughs, most times she doesn't.

Sometimes I don't understand the bidding on Dayton chainsaws (rebadged Poulans) auctions on feePay;
I guess that it's like any auction, just depends on how many people want something bad enough.

Poulan Pro 335 Predator

Finally got the Predator cleaned up and fuel line replaced. Looks really good with the nice, NOS "PREDATOR" bar (Thanks VERY much to Barneyrb)

Did they make one for Rigid Tool???
The other Rigid saws are light blue/gray.

Good call Mike, Ridgid 690-21AV based on the 4200 according to Acres

(I did see that Mark did ID one back in 2007 in chainsaw collector forum about an 850-21AV)

Here's a vid of one with a chain so dull I don't think it would keep up to a 2300

That saw is silver....

Both of you old geezers must be color blind or need to adjust tor monitors. LOL

Thinking about putting my Dayton 4Z252 (5200) on Ebay in the next week or so. I would like to see it go to one of the Poulan guys, so feel free to make me an offer before I put it on there. Not crazy about selling it, but feel that I should.
Im not asking anyone to pay me a fortune for this saw, and maybe I shouldnt have tossed the idea up here. But I want it to go to someone here, I can take a little loss on it but not half price. Just make an offer, you wont insult me- and if I feel comfortable with it Ill send it on its way.
And as stupid as it sounds, I dont want to throw a price on it (just make an offer). I had a dealing not go the greatest before because the member thought I was asking twice what it was worth (I didnt know its value), and I dont know the value of this saw. My last 5200 was a FAR cry from this one, and sold for $400 (which I thought was too much).

Ill post up a picture or two, or feel free to PM me. No first dibs or anything on it, whoever gives me fair price first. It is the nicest example of a 4Z252 or similar that I have ever seen. Very little wear or use, a solid 9/10.

***Will trade for 5.56 or .223 ammunition or AR related parts.***

Proof positive that the bottom of a chain is usually sharper than the top side. :jester:

Guilty. Still looks blue to me though. Computer is old and eye's aren't so good either.
I prefer to think of it as having a blue tint, just like grandma's hair.

All I know for sure is, I would sure like to have that 5200 Rigid, to keep my other Rigids company.

That guy in the Netherlands, found both a Rigid 4200 and 5200 !
