4200 bar plates

I am looking for the bar plates but it seems that the outer 530025924 is NLA.I wondering if the plates of the 4400 will fit on the 4200.4400 plates are inner:530025858 and outer:530025857.

5400 is alive

the 5400 is a runner, old and beat up but starts on 1st pull after a little adjustment, now i need a chain and air filter.

Air filter ?

Cut a couple times now with the 3.4 and 3.7, and I am havin fun. Noticed the new air filters fill up quick, and not sure about how well they seal. Couple questions/solutions I am pondering:

1. Thin foam prefilter (easier to clean than the flocking)?
2. A little filter grease around the base edge?
3. Slotted covers....or does that just add more stuff?
4. Any other ideas?
5. Sharp chain, and clean often?:smile2:

I have my brother checking out a 4000 in Northern Ohio for me. This stuff never ends does it.

3 and 5 are your best bet!

I'm not 100% certain why but the 3700 slotted covers seem to help quite a bit.

The word toque is not encouraged in the US as the joints come out when it's spoken.

The former is correct but if you've been into something it can be the latter. Are you sure you don't have a little French in you?

yes, now i have to tackle the 2 6900's and see what i can do with them. hopefully make one good saw out of the 2.

I guess you'd have to clean the filter too often to stick a small amount of silicone on the edge. I've done that to mowers but I don't get in the filter that often on a mower like I would a saw. Was the slotted cover an option? Mine didn't have one when I bought it (used).
