Thats gonna be a sweet looking Craftsman 3.7 Joe!! Dern near as nice as your first one.
My craftsman 3.7 is kind of a well worn, dull red look to it..lol

Gregg,

Mine is kinda dull also, but you cant judge a book by the cover. I think you will like mine when you try it this weekend.

Joe, you and Steve should open up a saw cleaning business. You do great work in the cleaning up of the saws.

Hell I got a bunch they can clean for me!

That bar would be around mid 80`s when put on as both of the saws were retired from active duty. Now the bar might not have been a current model at that time as the dealer we bought parts from always had a lot of old stock parts in the store. I think I have the same bar on a Jonsered 2094 that the previous owner stated ,it came with the saw when he bought it new from a dealer in his area. When I was discussing the saw with some of the other AS members the bar came up in the conversation and it was thought it would have been from the mid to late eighties. I am sure someone here with more knowledge on the Oregon bars will show up and set us straight.

Well I found another one of them bars, its a 36" on my P52, I won`t post a pict of it on the Poulan thread as it would contaminite the thread. There is picts of it over on the Pioneer thread though if anyone wanted to see them.

Ill send every one of them that is here to them. lol

haha. I actually really like cleaning them. One of the best parts of saw scrounging is seeing what you have under 25 years of gunk.
I also enjoy it, but sometimes I miss a few spots :) Steve could enlighten you on the clearcoated dirt on my 371. But it is a work saw, so it didnt really matter that much to me.

And if they are clean, I dont have to get my hands dirty.
Nice work.

Joe, I finished up the S25DA today. Running great now and I got the oiler working also. The diaphragm was shot, glad I had a new one for it. I need to find some more of these.

Calvin, got any 530010131 diaphragms?

3.7 done

Here it is. Just a cleaning, lines, carb kit. I also removed the powersharp. This one looks new too. Its also wearing the muffler off the 4000 which is cool. I have a theory about these saws. I think casual cutters went and bought these for light cleanup. Where else will you find a 61cc saw 25 years old in this shape? We had a big limb come down in a wind storm today so its almost like the saw gods were watching me and wanted fresh wood for this saw! Oh yeah, 140 psi, Id bet this saw still isnt broken it. No carbon on the ex port.

Joe,

You would be amazed how many Craftsman badged Poulans are sitting in closets and garages that have never seen gas or oil.
Ladies bought them as presents for their husbands for birthdays, fathers day, anniversaries, Christmas etc., and the husbands never intended to use them.
My great uncle worked for Sears and he used to laugh about the tools Sears sold the week before a holiday, that would come back the week after.
I would bet that for every two that were returned, one more is sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting.

Id say you hit the nail on the head Mike. I'm sure this still happens. But Sears isn't selling pro grade 61cc saws anymore.

Those are some nice looking Poulans you have there Kev1n:clap:
Don't look like either has seen much hard use anyway. Only things that might need attention, are fuel lines, filters, etc.
Very Nice:)

Nice finds!

Why would you? They rarely give trouble!! I had the flywheel off and didnt bother to check it then because the manual oiler worked so well that I figured it would be a waste of time. LOL

Easy fix, but I'm on the lookout for more diaphragms anyway.

Jason I would say your wait was worthwhile as you found a nice one. Is it running?
