It is amazing how many of these saws are the same but are modeled differently, The 3500, 3600, 3750 and 365 all call for the same rings but different cylinders 365 and 3750 call for same cylinder(I assume just for fitment or maybe just a part number change. You guys probably al ready know this but i am learning everyday.

No, you're not alone. I find it fascinating how the saws change and evolve a little bit over time. It's neat to see where they came from with each model difference.

I'm not positive but I believe the case is wider on the 365,380,and 3750 and that is why the diff cyl.

365 3500 cases same, 380 3750 cases etc same. Look where the impulse is and you will see the difference in the cylinders. ;)

We have threads on this same subject on Chainsaw Repair saved, just use google search to find the site.

liking the saw too. howsomever i have a need. picked up a wright 136 which is actually a badged poulan 361. its missing the handle bracket and the sprocket cover. currently using a bent piece of aluminum tubing as the handle bracket and a homie xl12 sprocket cover. would really like to upgrade to the proper handle bracket and the correct sprocket cover (since the homie cover leaves a good sized hole at the back top of the cover/saw interface. i would prefer the wright cover but would also consider the poulan cover (i'd just have to grind "Poulan" off). got trading stuff or green stuff.

I have 3 of those 3450 and they are good running saws. A simple saw to muffler mod and away you go. Very nice way to go.

I have one in the shop right now with one of the bastard HDA 164 carbs that don't want to cooperate with tuning or running right. Just because I have one, I'm going to stick a smaller, older style HDA 49 carb on it to see how it runs. I think if that model carb is good enough for the 60cc PP365 it should be fine on a 54cc saw.

It is odd that they put the bigger carb and intake on the 3450 and a smaller intake and carb on the 365. And the 330 uses the bigger intake and carb also. Also the 330 uses the same fly wheel setup and starter pulley as the 3750.

I would not be surprised Mark to find out that it works better on your 3450.

Any of you guys be interested in a swap? I am looking for a 365, 380, 3450, 3750 that needs a top end (i think those are the wider cased saws). I have a running 2700 i would trade straight up.

Why didn't the fat ringed 3800 series use chromed rings?

Tore my first one down for a minor rebuild & cleaning, and was suprised that the rings are standard cast iron for that aluminum bore.
