So who made the blue and white Sears (Craftsman?) 3.7's? Roper? Model # 917.351770 to be specific...

So here's what looks like another one that popped up as well...much nicer than the ones I originally inquired about...and around $100 higher asking price, too.:dizzy:

Roper? And did Remington also make saws for Sears for a short period? Seem to recall running across a reference to that somewhere recently and this sorta looks like one...sorta.

Anyone here get this 8500 mislabeled as a 5500 for $125? It was probably within 15 miles of Aaron so hoping he was the lucky one. The seller only provided an e-mail contact and he responded back tonight it was sold.

Poulan 5500 Professional chain saw - $125 (rohnert pk / cotati)

Available is a Poulan professional 5500 chainsaw. Incredibly powerful will absolutely rip through wood like a hot knife through butter. Should last forever with proper maintenance.
do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers.

That's a cool looking old saw congratulations Jeff

Anyone besides me actually miss all the soft, warm, and artfully textured fuzziness from "MortifiedMark'? (That was a joke, BigGuy....sorta like 'Jeremiah Jerkoff'... if ya know what I mean?). (Insert multiple rimshots here?)

I got on yer ass pretty good the other night because you deserved it. And if you're really a mind reader for your day job and actually do know what I'm thinkin', you know I've felt bad about it since.

Thing is, ya just don't walk into your favorite bar on any given night to hang out with the fellas for a beer and a shot, then beat the snot outta the first guy ya see walk through the door cause he ain't wearin a 'proper' Poulan hat and orders a ciche' appetizer, then bust the place up just to show everyone else ya can.

You've been one of my favorite guys here at AS since I stumbled across your ornery ass back in '09. I'd like to keep it that way, but sure do hate to see folks I have grown to admire and respect make asses outta themselves over petty crap. Not only made me a little sad, but obviously pissed me off when ya dragged me into the BS between you and Kevin..., like I had some kind of motive besides trying to diffuse a really stupid and juvenile pissing contest along with trying to provide a really easy out for both of ya to let it rest with the "Kevin and Mark being Kevin and Mark" approach so the rest of the Poulan world could just head on down the road like no big deal in spite o' both of ya....which seems to be the case so far near as I can figger..., well, 'cept for you Mark.

It was never my intention to get up your ass so bad that you felt like exile was the way to go here...., just to send a message that needed to be sent. I wouldn't have liked it either, but it wasn't sent to me, I didn't bust up the bar or kick the guy's ass who asked a question I didn't like, or act like that should be acceptable behavior by any standards anywhere and anyone who didn't agree should just "I have a potty mouth".

Some of the rest of us are big boys here too, Hotshot. And for the most part we like ya because of who you are. Again, I'd like to keep it that way from my own position on this.

And yeah, I realize this should probably have been done on the side and "what's between you and I" should stay that way, but I called you out in front of everyone here, not to mention God, Country, (and rest his soul), Walter Brennan..., and I'm gonna own it that way with this message to you right here too.

And don't get all full o' yerself thinkin' this is some kind of apology, because it isn't.

Ain't nuthin' more than a water under the bridge bygones be bygones olive branch (insert favorite cliche here) attempt to maybe get ya to stop back in for a beer and a shot. Take it or leave it for what it may be worth to you.

Obviously no sweat off anyone's ass whether you do or not, but some of us do miss ya...me included.

Yes Pogo, as a matter of fact I do miss Mark being around here.
But he is a big boy and can come and go as he pleases.
I tried to keep from jumping into the middle of the melee the other night and showing my ass, by attempting to diffuse and move forward. I'm going to continue to try to remain respectful and non combative now and in the future.
But I've got to tell you that as expensive as gasoline is these days you could have found a lot better uses for it than throwing it into the fire here.

The Poulan family is like an extended family in a lot of ways, ESPECIALLY the core group that has been here since day one.
I don't know how much experience you have with two or more brothers fighting, but a study of that scenario is certainly in order here.

Hey guys, I am looking at buying a poulan 260 of a member here. The thing needs a new carb or rebuild kit though. I have a ton of parts for carbs for the new poulan and craftsman saws. Are the parts for the new carbs interchange able with the old style found on the 260? I know that the design of the carb is different but are the components the same?

And unfortunately, a lot of those guys dont post hardly any more.

Well I'm gonna start working over my new 3800, not sure what all Im gonna do to it yet, but I remember reading Joe did a thread on adding the air slots to the air cover, but I can't find it, is it here or on the repair forum? Another question for the guys that converted over to the 4000 style high top & more traditional type air filter, I see there is a different part # for the 375 and 385 & 395, if you buy the cover & air filter is that all you need, or do you need the cylinder cover also? My dad runs a 24" bar on his 311 stihl, which i would think is not really ideal & I want him to see how good these things are.

I got a pile of left over 260 parts from builds. You can have carb or carbs if needed and if I still have them.
Heck I have used carbs off other saws. Just match linkages etc up.
Walbro WT-391 , Zama C1Q - W9

I love this series of saws and usually sell and buy them in the $30-$75 range as runners.

Last 1 I rebuilt from 2.

I wish they did, I can't answer mopar969's question but there are guys here who can do it in their sleep with half their brain tied behind their back. But many have jobs and are very busy or don't have jobs and are busy looking for one. Either way can eat away at ones discretionary computer time

Many have also just moved on and are still active in other forums.
