Hey Tim what is the saw in your avatar?

Hi Roger,
As I seem to living in a Poulan vacuum right now I couldn't resist it. It's really, really nice 266XP. Built in October 1998.
On a Poulan note. ATV season is approaching and I tuned my PP295 up and cut some ice storm ash firewood today with it. I would say it doesn't have the torque of my 285 but what a great trail saw this will be. It runs like a top and cuts really well for it's size.
I'll send you the pics of the orange saw in a PM.

I was just curios I have since I have accumulated a few of the orange ones my self lately.

The PP295 saws are great little saws for the money and I really like the size and weight.
I have a couple of them now that I have modded and they always put a smile on my face when I cut with them.

This saw is diving me nuts! Saw has good comp, spark and freshly cleaned carb. It will only start on prime and runs very fast (WOT) until it dies, 20-30 seconds. Could it be an air leak? You can see the fuel pumping thought the line. Both H&L set at 1 turn out. I swapped the WT for a WA from a 2000 exactly the same result. Help please.

A 295 with a muffler mod is a nice little saw. The last one I picked up needed seals so I did a little port work, opened the muffler and edged the timing up just a smidge. Wow! That is an impressive little saw! It's still one of my favorites. Some of the guys who cut with me laugh about it until is starts slinging chips. :D

Last one I did with those symptoms was the reed valve not closing. It would spray fuel back. If you're not getting spray back through the carb throat then I'd check for a vacuum leak.
