25da 002.JPG 25da 003.JPG 25da 001.JPG i have these two poulans, not sure the model no. but both run strong. the sears is like new but has the power sharp setup. it has a nice 14" roller nose bar i want to use.i have a loop of regular oregon 1/4" that i have been trying to get lengthened but no one will do it.liability issues they all say. the stihl shop has loops but wants $30 for one that fits.
what model saw are these and did they come with a more common chain size(cheaper) than the 1/4"? maybe 3/8 lo pro or something ? are drums available ?

those are the original model 25 , yes you can change the power sharp to regular chain, take off all of the power sharp stuff and get you some LP 91 and a 3/8 sprocket. nice saws/

Those are both Poulan 25 or early super S25 series, with the slide type switches instead of the toggle
lever switch. You would have to actually measure the cylinder bores to tell if they are "S" supers or
standard 25s. If I remember, it's 1.438" bore for the standard, versus 1.500" bore for the supers.

You can run the more common 3/8" lo pro, and drum sprockets are available in rim or spur.

Do a search for Poulan S25 or S25DA, there is a lot of information here.

3400 Made Me Do It...

There was a reprieve from the blazing hot weather of late today. Took a 3400 for a bit of a rip to get started on the 2017 firewood supply. Things went well.

Thanks for the heads-up on the metering lever Randy. 0.5mm below flush seemed to lean it out much better on the H. She positively gobbled the D. Fir.

thanks acornhill & hotshot-a few more calls and i found a husky shop that will lengthen the piece of 1/4" chain for the sears saw. thery're not afraid of the laywers ! good men. i did the search thing and learned a lot on these saws. i'll have to measure the bore , tho i suspect they are the 2.1 as the supers seem to come with the 3/8 lo pro. i found another bar that will fit the orange one and it has some 3/8 chain on it. it is oregon and has 91 stamped on the drive plates. sounds like your lp91 acornhill ?
i'll be looking for a 3/8 drum next. this is more like it thanks

Yes, saw is actually in decent shape under all of that protection (caked on grime/ mud dabber nest)

Good deal, I saw that saw a couple of weeks ago, but am still gunshy.
Here's a Texas P306 saw that was trashed by a mud daubers nest. Said it ran good...was not a good fleabuy deal. That's just ugly right there!

Carb kit, fuel lines and a good bath and runs like new. [emoji1]

The spring broke and I thought it would be easier to just find a whole recoil than fix this one and paint it. Being lazy. ;)

It's the same brand as the original. I'm not sure why it's a different color?

Light blue? That would be off of a Quckie chop saw, I've got a couple model 6514
