Thanks Tim! Another question that has to do with the 4200. The duck bill piece that goes on the end of the little breather screw keeps falling off in into the fuel tank. Is there any way
to keep it from doing that? I think the duckbill piece is actually for a different saw. Here is a pic.

That looks like a Homelite check valve. The Poulan ones are PN 530026119. You could stick the one you have on it on with a bit of Motoseal. Just don't plug it up. If there's room you could also wrap the barb with a bit of Teflon tape.
It needs to be a snug fit so it doesn't leak.

Your right Tim, I do think it is a Homelite valve. I have plenty of Motoseal so I think I'll give that a shot. Thanks again for the gasket patterns, I made one last night for the oiler, worked really well.

Interesting. Both my 3700's pull around 170 psi on compression. 125 psi is really low for a 3700 but in the common area for a 3400. The Canadian built saws were assembled in the Skil plant on Toronto and there seemed to be a bit of substitution on the up side. Maybe to make shipments.
That's the first grey 3700 I've heard of. I wonder if your comp gauge is off. How many pulls on the starter did you take when you measured the compression?
Take a pic of the stater pulley and post it of you would.

I did another compression test, no change.

Hopefully it's not a tired 3700... It's working quite well at the moment. Have it tuned nicely, and its holding its own with the larger bar and vanguard chain against my shorter bar chisel chain pioneer 58cc

I think someone said that the 3400's have lower compression readings than other saws but I could be mistaken.

I'm not sure then. I'd imagine the 3700 compression would be similar to the 3400 though. If it runs great right and cuts well I'd guess the compression is probably where it should be.

Wow that's awesome. I can't find anything locally other than the 3400's and the 4200 that wasn't running.

Some came locally, others came from afar (AZ, CT, IN, NC, OH, PA and TN come to mind). Five or six came in a trade that I did last year with another individual. I have more or less stopped looking for them, especially after paying for a 5200 in Texas and never getting sent the saw.

That sucks that someone would do that but I guess that's more of a risk these days. Still sad though, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt most of the time but sometimes its hard.
