Hey Guys!
Just an update.
I talked to ModifiedMark tonight for a few minutes and he asked me to tell you he has some corrections for the 3300-365/380 P/C swap.
It seems like it may not be as easy as originally thought.
He will be along in the next couple of days to clarify after he completes his research and experimenting.LOL
Mike
Thanks Mike, and here is the scoop. Well not all of it but I'm still working on it.
I had allways thought this series was about the same but I was wrong, they are but they are not.
What I'm finding so far is that the cases and cyls are the same size from the 2700-3300 and PP285-335.
The 60cc 3500, 3600, PP336 and PP365 are another series by itself. I have not yet had time to research the 3450, 3750 PP330 and PP380 yet.
The main thing to tell is the 3500, 3600 and the PP 336 and 365 all have a flat sided cyl cover, a wider air filter cover and a wider muffler as opposed to the smaller ones.
The case is also wider for the clearence for the wider muffler and the tabs on the flywheel side of the case are spaced out wider.
The kicker that I did not get right away is that the bolt spacing on the cyls are about 1/8" wider side to side on the 60cc cyls. The bolt spacing front to rear appears to be the same.
So from first guess, as I'm not taking perfectly good running saws apart to see is that the 53cc P/C are the largest that you can just bolt on any of the 2700-3300, PP 285-335 series saws.
And I'm just guessing on the 46cc saws but with some more research when time permits should prove that my guess is right.
At this time I will not suggest to anyone to use a 365 P/C on the smaller series cases but like Mike and I talked about they may fit with some slotting of the bolt holes. The PP335 P/C is still in the system, there cheaper and there good running 53cc saws anyway.
Here are a couple pics to explain and I'll try to get into it more when time permits.
