The spring clips are just made from a 3/8" OD extension spring. Easy to find.

I hope to see you at Mark and Chris' GTG in July.

I'm planning on it Tim. If all goes well, and I'm still above ground. :D And I don't forget...:dizzy:

P.S. I'll bring your chair along too...! LOL Its still here, right where I put it after the last GTG.

Gregg,

Gregg,

I would have thought you would have had your butt planted in it. It's pretty comfortable.

Gregg,

I hope to see ya'll for sure. I hope to be making the formal announcement here soon, still waiting to hear from someone about some details.

Here are a couple examples of S-Clips and the spring type Tim is talking about. Mark gave me some of these coiled spring type once. Have no clue where he found them. If I did know, I have forgotten.

The one on the left is an original S-Clip, The other 2 are some I made out of the metal strips that hold the rubber in your windshield wipers. :D They aren't formed quite as nice, but work well.

Those spring spacers is what I got from Windsor when I asked about S clips. That was long ago before Blount bought them out, I think.

I just get the hardware extension springs like Tim suggest now, much less hassle, works as well and is cheaper.

I forget the exact size spring to get, I know there 3/8 OD. I know em when I see them though.

Well...I had an hour after work while my lovelies were out grocery shopping. I planned on going for a walk but only made it as far as the shop. I finally got into the s25da.

The good:

Considering this was a barn find things are pretty sound.

The not so good:

My fault, as I was rushing to get the jug back on. Any recommendations on rings? I see the Greek stocks a set.

Not yet Nate. I am looking forward to putting it back together and that handle insert will be a nice addition when it arrives. I have yet to run one of these but I am thinking fresh rings (now :omg:), no base gasket and some high octane ought to be fun. At least I've got an excuse to work on another saw now while I track some rings down.

Many thanks.

Well it should be there any day I would imagine. Plans sound good for the saw too!

Hang onto the saw when trying to start w/o a gasket. It'll hurt your hand.

That appears to be a 202 since its a non Power Sharp model but that is the only difference between the 202 an 203.

Rings are not hard to find if you look by the ring measurements instead of the application.

Your bore is 1.785"

Call Hastings, they can get you what you need.

Thats good to know.
Thanks, the piston looks like it may have a little scored. Do you think I should just clean piston, cylinder and put a new wrist pin bearing in. I want to get this saw running it was my great grandfather's saw,and look Like it was used quite abit.
