Better leave it in its cacoon Gary. It might just morph into a 6900 or 7700!
Gregg,
I have been looking for one of these for two years now. The paint's not perfect but a cursory check when I bought it shows the basic saw and parts to be in good shape. I will have to go through it before start up.
Notice that the muffler on these does not have the typical side port.

Wait a minute, an orange Poulan?
On another note, what's the most important thing to look at when buying a used saw?
I'm doing well, thanks for asking, going to get stitches out Tuesday. Walking some each day with a walker so I don't lose my balance and hit the old nogin. Got my new fuel tank check valve put in Saturday with my brothers help but won't let me start it. Maybe in a few more weeks I can.How are you doing Steve?

My folks brought up the 3700 and the super 250A I bought a couple weeks ago together for $30. Haven't touched the 250A but got the 3700 cleaned up today. Piston and cylider look almost new, but haven't started it yet cause I want to check the carb and fuel lines.

I'm thinking (uh oh!) that muffler is the style used up to the 4200; the side pipe showed up on the 4400 and up.
Nice early 3700 Nate! I would love to see a pic of the very elusive 250A . Heard a lot about them, but never seen one. I bet it looks a lot like the more common Super 25 DA .
