Friend has a barely used red Craftsman 3.7 I put new fuel lines in a couple years ago. He hasn't used it since. Can't beat a good 3700. Not an easy saw to find either
I'll have my wife talk to his wife.[emoji848]

They seem to be more common as the red Craftsman.
The guy selling the scorched 4400 on eBay blocked me from bidding. He wants $319 for a burned up saw. I told him it was not worth that much. I offered $110 plus the ride. He got offended. Oh well

Piston Ring Sizes for Poulan Saws (34cc versus 38cc) 25DA versus S25, S25AV, S25CVA, S25DA
I recently became confused trying to figure out which piston rings to buy for a Wright 122 saw.
The problem comes from the fact that there are TWO different cylinder sizes 34cc and 38cc.
At first glance, the model names look very similar - they have "Poulan" and "25" in them - that's the confusing part.
I ended buying BOTH sizes. If you make that mistake on cylinders or pistons.. it becomes expensive very quickly.
To save the next person a lot of searching and thrashing, these are the results.
I have also attached a picture showing the rings side by side.
It is important to realize that 25DA and S25DA are different sizes!! Easy for a newbie to miss!!
34cc - Wright 122 , Poulan 25DA (notice there is NOT an "S" here)
Ring Part # 530023352 - Cylinder Volume: 34cc (2.1cu.in) - Bore: 36.5mm (1.4375in)

38cc - Poulan Pro S25, S25AV, S25CVA, S25DA
Ring Part # 530029391 - Cylinder Volume: 38cc (2.3cu.in) - Bore: 38.1mm (1.5in)

Those S25DA rings are marked with the wrong part number.
Did they come from the Greek?
He's got the keeper type (angled) & butt ended rings part numbers reversed...
You are absolutely right.. they came from "The Greek". You've obviously seen people go down this path before!
You know.. I wondered why those numbers did not match all the research I'd done for S25DA (while I was still thinking that it was the model I have...but it isn't!).
I just assumed that they must be some replacement part number for obsolete parts and trusted him because "he ought to know best".
Dang it! You try to clear up confusion to help people and end up bending the facts yourself by trusting flaky parts numbers from an experienced supplier. Grrr.
One more thing I've noticed on my travels is that some people quote the piston and the piston kit using the same numbers... they can't both be right! ...but that's another story.
I've tried to go back to my posts to clean them up as I find better and more accurate information, but this forum doesn't seem to let you do that. You can only edit very recent posts. That's a bit sad because it means that inaccurate information gets frozen in time and people will keep searching for (and finding) twisted information. I PM'd one of the admins but have not seen any changes yet. Also, because this forum is organized as one giant endless stream of stuff, you can't reliably find corrections even if they ARE posted.. they end up being mixed in 50 or 500 messages later.

Thats a better offer then I sent him last week.
I have had one experience with "The Greek" and it was not good. Number of years ago I ordered a set of rings for a 5200 Poulan from him. They were no where even close to being right. He insisted they were. I found a set from somewhere else, don't even remember where, were perfect. Needless to say this old Poulan geezer, will never waste my time, money and effort buying anything from him again, even if he is the last place on earth. Even if some folks evidently have had good luck with his stuff. Just my .02 cents worth on The Greek
Gregg,
At least that was better than the $100 plus ride offer from me almost 3 weeks ago ( also with explanation why...) I just put the information that the guy offered in the ebay add and did a web search. There is only one listing that potentially matches the sellers information. Maybe I'll call the number for fun.
....

As described that is a parts saw at best. You have to go with the worst case for condition. Most won't find parts to fix it.
$100 to my door max..
I actually was only interested in to restore and convert to a 5400 since I have not found the right 5400. Only have to change the top end, ID tag and carb. Of course the paint and decals would be changed.
