This must be search for Poulan parts night.:dizzy: I'm gonna be needing a muffler for the old 5200 I started on. I was wondering if a 4200 muffler would work? I'm guessing not. The exhaust port on the 5200 is pretty fair size. I know some parts are interchangable others not, between the two.

This thing must have been sittin for some time. Was a real mess, but so far I don't see any reason this old beast shouldn't breath again. P/C look great! and I know thats half the battle. Had it all apart and cleaned things up. Was gonna put a new set of rings in it, just because I thought I had a set. Turns out that the rings I bought, some time ago... from some fellow on ebay aren't the right ones. They are twice as thick as the Poulan rings, and the ends fit around the pin style, instead of butting up to the pins. Have no clue what they might fit, could be a Husky 385. So maybe I better hang on to them..lol

Gregg,

Greg, the 5200 rings are 530023645 and you can still order them. The 5200 gaskets and seals are still around on ebay as well.

Yes the 4200 muffler is the same no problems there. Actually the P/C are the only things different between the two that I have found. Well the carbs are technically different as the 4200 carb is not governed while the 5200 is.

Yes Calvin, that part looks like it is for the 306/245 bow setup. Got the rest of it? Theres quite a few parts needed to that bow setup on those and without the rest, that one is useless.

Thanks mark and chainsawwhisper for the help im currently working on website adding new products not nos parts either im stepping up to big time loggers etc. offering chainsaw attachments such as mills clip n trim hedge trimmer attachments and other items here take a peak

5200 decals

Hey guys just so you know, I sent some pictures of the 5200 decals to Joe at suger creek supply today to see if he would make up some new ones.

I told him that I wanted at least 2 sets myself and figured that a couple of you guys would want some as well.

Bob and Greg you listening?

Anyway, maybe if you guys would contact him and let him know that you want a couple of sets, then that might motivate him some.

Actually I might want 3 sets myself as I have a line on another 5200 that I'm investigating.

Really? you happen to have the OEM 5200 gasket sets? 69025 is the number. If so I'll take 2.

Thanks Mark, Good to know the 4200 parts will work. I have the gasket/seal set also. Bought some of that stuff quite some time ago, figuring I would eventually get one of these 85cc rascals.:)

Got the carb kit installed, new fuel line/filter. Gonna take the oiler out yet also. When I went to clean the oil tank out, the pick-up fell out..LOL.
This thing had bout 20 hard crumbly pieces of fuel line in fuel tank.

Has a starter cover screw boke off, that I'll try to get out yet. and some other odds & ends that need fixin. She ain't gonna be pretty, but I hope a good runner, then maybe down the line sometime, give it a proper paint job and what not.

Greg,, when you take that oiler out, go ahead and knock that small roll pin out that holds the adjuster screw in it. Then take the adjuster out and replace the o ring on it as they leak when they get old.

PM me your email address and I'll send you some stuff on it.

Yes..That old codger 67Mustang fellow is allright!! LOL
Thanks to Steve, I finally got a 245A that I was wanting.
He's good people in my book too, as are most Poulan fellows..:)

Gregg,

Nice remarks like that might just get you a muffler for your 5200! I think I have an extra one somewhere. Are you missing the entire thing including the deflector?

Very cool saws Joe. I picked up an orange craftsman 2.3 for $15 at the flea market last sunday, runs like a top. I still can't believe how much power these little tiny saws have.

If you can keep the screws from vibrating loose...lol
